You swipe left and right on the screen to control certain actions. THere's so many animations it's unreal and most of them are hilarious. Here's one scene we messed up earlier: panama chief Well-Known Member May 16, 2012 193 0 0 #8 panama chief, Jun 20, 2012 Thanks for the reply. The animation looks top notch. I don't expect it to but if it does that would be awesome. Dan@Chillingo Well-Known Member Feb 22, 2012 113 0 0 #11 Dan@Chillingo, Jun 20, 2012 It's not Retina. We'd love it to be, but (and I'm putting my slightly technical hat on here) the reason it isn't is that the assets are hand drawn and simply didn't exist in larger sizes. It still looks stunning though and upscales beautifully! LawLessLove Well-Known Member Nov 18, 2010 500 0 0 #12 LawLessLove, Jun 20, 2012 How long is this suppose to be? I played it way back when it was first built as an arcade cabinet bar game. Rather than swiping, in the original version you had a dial that you'd spin clockwise or counter, and it would determine the main character's behavior. Unlike dragons lair, it has extended control sequences where you have to accurately gauge how the other characters are responding to you and adjust accordingly. Like approaching a lady at a bar, the swipes determine how shy or how aggressive you are. Then she'll respond to you, then you have to gauge how to respond. Its only a one play through kinda game, but man I loved it, I hope the port does it justice. Dan@Chillingo Well-Known Member Feb 22, 2012 113 0 0 #17 Dan@Chillingo, Jun 20, 2012 Yup you're right the original was a dial. We truly believe that React Entertainment (the developer behind the iOS version) have ported it perfectly. It just feels like it was made for touch controls now. Hope you pick it up and agree! In terms of length, some of the scenes take really precise timing and gesture control so all depends on how quickly you pick up on it Besides, you'll want to play through scenes just to see Edgar fail...you cruel people dexter77 Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 389 0 0 #18 dexter77, Jun 20, 2012 From what I remember, this title is one of the last (or maybe the very last) lasergame out in the arcade, I think the only difference from the original are the controls ... as in the video, the coinop has a sort of "spinner" like Arkanoid, a kind of timewarp controller... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1itLgSoyKPY Definitely a must buy for Dragon's Lair fans...i'm the first in the list! ; ) bigrand1 Well-Known Member Apr 23, 2010 4,968 7 38 Geriatric Party Animal California, USA #19 bigrand1, Jun 20, 2012 I'm pretty excited about this one! I think people said it was an hour or so for the first time? But yeah, it is definitely fun to fail. And it's not that old. It was made in 2005, I think...?
