Hey, hey. Sorry, been too busy the last couple of days to visit here. Won't happen again. :D

Can't really say much about the accuracy thing that hasn't been said already. Pffs. Just the way it is. I would imagine it's not uncommon for someone to shoot themselves in the foot if they had an angry horde of zombies coming at them! (but I guess we won't know... until the zombie apocalypse starts anyway).

    And bonuses; yep, they stack.

I just bought the game on sale and was wondering about the second campaign. It is on sale too right? what is the normal price and how long is the second campaign?

Yep, we're having our biggest sale ever over the thanksgiving weekend! You'll most likely never be able to get the game cheaper than this :D

The first campaign is $1.99 (down from $4.99) and campaign 2 is only $0.99(!) (also with a regular price of $4.99).

As for how long it is, it's roughly the same amount of levels as campaign1, but it's a lot more challenging so it will most likely take you longer.

You can only upgrade your skills in-between levels. And only one point into the same skill each time. (to prevent you from upgrading one single skill to the max right away). You can also cycle which soldier you have selected with the little arrows next to them so you can distribute your points to different characters.

Bought it. But I really have no idea how to handle it. No experience in turn based fighting games.

Made it (in five or six frustrating attempts) up to the second "friend" soldier but now I am (we are) always dying dying dying. Too many zombies. No idea when I should control the first or second soldier or both together or one after the other… No idea whom I should equip with what. No idea when and why a fight (turn) starts, how long it goes. Zombies always start to fight and the soldiers are always too slow.

Gave up. No patience now for learning that much. The sergeant is bad and tells me I am a morone before I did anything. The zombies are bad. Too many bad characters. Maybe I am too stupid. Maybe the game is too difficult for TB beginners. Now I stopped before the frustration ruins my day.

My favorite stays real time strategy. Maybe I'll pick TS up again when I found a walkthrough and a huge amount of time…

Wasn't planning to buy this one, but at the current price it was an irresistible offer. Very satisfied after my first play session. Personally not a fan of manual camera controls, but it's one of those primary design decisions that can't have much done about. I'm usually not that crazy about TBS games, but this one has just the right amount of user options. I agree with most design compromises that have been made to streamline the whole experience.

    @Habakuk

TBS titles exhibit more like the feel of a chess game, with managerial decisions that will affect later moves. I too am rather green in this genre, and have in the past been overwhelmed by a high entry level of information to absorb, but if you can hang on through the initial hill of frustration, you might just find your groove.

I find Tactical Soldier to actually be a superior introduction to the genre by having a good grasp of discipline as to the number of available choices offered to the player at any time.

Thanks for your kind words, Ghouls'R'us. As much as I want to open up a "new" genre for me it seems that this is not my cup of tea. Sure—according to the reviews this seems to be a good game. But the learning curve is too steep for me right now. I even read the front page review with five stars.

Will look for a video where each single step and movement is shown clearly. When time comes…

I have been holding off on picking this game up for some time but I guess I may as well now. I remember I watched a video of the beginning part and the whole "bad sergeant" thing just really put me off both due to being terribly cliche as well as me not feeling partial to being verbally abused by a video game. I hope there's not too much of that there once you get going.

heh. The sarge is actually a pretty nice character once you get to know him. :D
    Well... for a while anyway.

A lot of the story IS horribly cliché, yes. By design. I mean... zombies... how can it not be. (And the whole tutorial part is of course a pretty obvious nod towards Full Metal Jacket. :D)

Played through the tutorial and first couple of missions (tasks?) and really enjoying it even though TBS games are right near the bottom of my preferred genres. The interface is clean and intuitive and the gameplay, so far at least, engrossing. Kudos developer. Me love you long time.

agreed... after getting about 3 hours into the first campaign, I'm totally lovin it. I don't care how cliche it is... it's a great TBS game. Thank you so much for the sale! I don't think I would have even heard of this game if it weren't for the price drop... =o/

I spent some time playing this game and wow it is a well made fun game. I bought the second campaign in hopes you'll do a third one.

Act 2 is composed of 6 levels, but they're supposed to be bigger, harder than Act 1's. For the special $0.99 sale price, it's a pretty good deal :).

I'm trying to hook up my brother to this game, he's naturally more inclined towards strategy games than I. I hope he goes for it.

I have a request: could we get an option to turn off the automatic camera movement/rotation during enemy turns pease? I find it a bit disorienting and in some cases it can even make me feel a little dizzy.

Hey, thanks everyone for the nice comments!
I'm personally especially happy we seem to be drawing in a few people who normally don't play these sort games and managing to make them enjoy the experience. So, thanks again for giving it a try!

Our Thanksgiving weekend sale will still be in effect during today, so if you haven't picked it up yet, nows your last chance to get it cheap.

We never considered that, no. But you make an excellent point. We'll definitely have a look at it and see if there's anything we can do.
