Wow, on sale for $2! Everybody get this game!! Such a small price for so much game, I thought I stole this game when it was $3. I hope a ton of new people pick this up because of the sale, and if anyone has any problems or questions there's more than enough people willing to help you out in this thread. Now go download!! I've had that happen to me quite a few times too. To be honest, I thought it was sort of a game feature. Like there's a probability that the stairs or tunnel you go through leads you somewhere without an exit. It can be really annoying though, if you just want to pop up a set of stairs to see if it leads to somewhere you haven't been yet, and you end up having to find a different exit on that floor and possibly lose where you were coming from in the first place. I just thought it was one of those "brutal features" of a roguelike, lol, but if it's a bug then let's squash it cause it can be very annoying! @Madgarden: When this has happened to me, there's usually nothing in the spot where I come up the stairs from. I'm just all of a sudden on the floor above me, but no stairs or pit where I popped up at.
Holy crap. That's a hell of a deal -- whoever hasn't bought this already NEEDS TO BUY IT NOW. Go! Do it! Don't make me hunt you down. Like BOARDDUMB, there's usually nothing there on the other side when it happens. Just a normal floor tile where stairs should be, or a normal wall and floor tile where a hole and debris should be. I've had it happen thrice now going down 20 levels and exploring all areas, so it's not tremendously common, but it definitely happens often enough to be looked at. There aren't really any steps to repeat it because I think this is an internal generation bug rather than anything triggered by something I did. The first time I thought it was just a weird glitch, but after the second and third time, it was definitely not a one-off thing, and BOARDDUMB's experience confirms it.
Alright, I'm putting this bug on the top of my list. I don't need the Sword of Fargoal veterans getting annoyed. EDIT: By the way... what kinds of maps does this happen on? Cave maps, or "Keep" maps? Ever happen in the Crypt?
To be honest I never really paid attention, though I do recall the last one that happened was a hole in the wall leading from a keep map to a to a cave. The hole on the cave side leading back was missing. I don't know if it makes a difference, but this cave level didn't have any stairs leading down and no other holes in the walls, so I had to go up and and then down another set of stairs from the level above.
Fantastic Job! This has been on my "Must buy" list for over a week now... ever since I started seeing all the great impressions about the game. I had intended to get it after the update, as my other iPhone roguelike - iNethack - required a fresh start after an update to function correctly... but the sale was too much for me to resist . After playing in my free time all afternoon and evening I'm completely hooked! Kudos to Madgarden and Fargoal (and any others) for such a well done remake. This is gonna make it impossible to catch up on my iGames list for the foreseeable future... Level 9 and still going strong!
Hey, I've been playing since it came out and I still haven't caught up on my unplayed games yet. I even paid full price for it even though I knew Paul was gonna offer me a code, just because I think it's worth every penny and wanted to throw my support into the ring. I think this sale is going to bring many converts.

My wife came and asked me: "Hubby... sex or Fargoal?"... and I gave the correct answer...".
Congrats! SoF is getting the recognition it deserves as far as I'm concerned. This is still my most played game even this far after it's released, so that's definitely saying something.
I just wanted to say how great this game is. I've tried some of the other Roguelikes, and couldn't get into them. This one is great, can't stop playing!

Just tried to buy it a couple times over the past hour or so and it won't let me because "item is being modified". Probably for the best since I've been avoiding this game considering how much time I spent playing Rogue Touch.
