Not sure if i should buy it. how is it like? action Game like the old xwing or more like wing commander or with trading like privateer? what do you enjoyed best?
It's an open universe game with trading, side quests, mining, etc. So strictly speaking about structure, it's more similar to Privateer. However, the gameplay is less about simulation and more about fast and arcade action. If I were to compare with a popular PC game, it would be Freelancer.
Thanks for the assist, c0mas. I eventually did figure it out. Also just wanted to say how nice the all the space furnishings are. The stations all look different, and there's plenty of other objects floating around to give the star systems some ambience. Really nice design job! Looking forward to finishing it.
I have a question to the devs. How many ships are there in the game? Also, another suggestion. It would be nice to be able do turn off some of the text out in space. There are so many words on the screen it breaks the immersion a little bit.
I find this game to be quite a bit deeper than GoF2. The comparisons are fair, but this game feels far more like an iOS Freelancer than GoF2 did for me. Really looking forward to seeing where this game ends up!
In terms of ship customization and combat maneuverability it's definitely deeper. That being said, the actual aiming in GoF 2 demands quite a bit more skill, and the handling of the ship is also more refined, so the difference from a ship with low handling to a ship with high handling is quite drastic. I like both games equally, but GoF2 is the more polished and robust experience in terms of content. It's striking how good that game looks even today. That being said, Stellar Wanderer will only get better and better. I almost want to stop playing it so I can better enjoy the updates.
Congrats guys! Well deserved. 4 Stars from toucharcade review: http://toucharcade.com/2016/03/03/stellar-wanderer-review/ I've been so busy this week, that it has interfered with my beta testing. I do have some things in my list to send you c0mas once I get some more hands on. I'm glad toucharcade gave you a wonderful review. Not bad for a game developed mostly by one guy and a very small budget compared to GoF2. Told you, you were talented.
This is a whole new level of fun for me with a controller, roll with right stick as well as what seem o be solidly mapped controls. Excellent
Any advice on getting past the mission in G1915? The one where you're supposed to disable the two transports? I've tried this a half dozen times and every time I either blow up one of the transports or I fail when the time runs out, even though I've destroyed the escorts and gotten both ships to go gray.
Cloud Saves I have a cloud save from my iPad and can see it in the saves on my phone, but I cannot figure out how to load it. I must be missing something staring me right in the face. Any suggestions?
Hi On that mission you have to take the escort first, then disable both transporters (gray them out). As you gray a transporter, an engineering ship will jump in and approach the disabled transport to take over the control. You must guard both engineering shuttles until they're in control, the mission will end as the transporters will turn green and will jump out.
Hi, from the main menu, hit "Load Game" instead of Continue/New game. Then tap on the iCloud save to highlight it, and a "Load" button should appear. Just tap the "Load" and the game should load it (will replace the autosave).
Side missions limited? Is there only a set number of side missions for each station or do they respawn?
