Seashine came out in the App Store in September 2015 and is a one-of-a-kind endless swimmer. Seashine is one of the 10/10 best and most audio-visually accomplished apps I've ever come across. It's currently in my Top 10 out of the hundreds of app games in my collection. Already when I first played it, around March 2016, I thought it was something special, but I fundamentally had a problem with recommending an app that's free, with ads and in-app purchases. Since then, I've come around and after playing it again in March 2017 and witnessing the amazing amounts of content that have been added across 18 updates since 1.0, for free, it's come to be one of my first recommendations (after Drop7) to any and all app gamers. The Seashine app is free, with ads and in-app purchases; however, if you only ever play one free, ad, in-app purchase app, play Seashine. Seashine is practically speaking a $4 premium app. A 5-second ad plays after every other death and you can watch 30-second ads for stars, which you can also buy in a few different amounts, and finally theres a $4 Doubler. Buying the $4 in-app purchase cuts out all 5-second ads, which you absolutely want, and doubles the amount of stars you get in the game, including the amount you get for watching 30-second ads and makes other in-app purchases obsolete. Stars, essentially used for upgrades, are earned easily by simply playing the game and youre really only paying to rid the game of ads. In Seashine, youre a jellyfish endlessly swimming around a randomized ocean, searching for prey, avoiding predators. At first, youll play the game all Zen-like, for fun, and it also a game about high-scores, but it also has a discovery system! Seashine features dozens of fishes, plants and other secrets to be discovered and this is what made me play Seashine for almost 12 hours, while high-scores came almost by accident and the stars for all upgrades accumulated without any effort. A year ago, there were only about 5 discoverable fishes and to date, I count 33. The app is solidly supported by the developer with on-going monthly updates and this appears to be his first app, which is really impressive. It really doesnt get the attention it deserves! Go check it out and if you enjoy it, buy the $4 in-app purchase, playing a piece of art with ads is extremely immersion-breaking!
