I think the developers are involved in this now- http://toucharcade.com/2011/06/16/facebooks-project-spartan/ I'm not entirely sure what that means for the fate of Dragonstryfe. They've "told me" without telling me that they're positioning themselves to sell their tech and/or get absorbed by a big player like Zynga. What I saw at WWDC was pretty cool, and they've somehow managed to figure out how to make HTML5 canvas work on mobile devices at a reasonable framerate. This soul harvesting stuff just seems to be a stall tactic to wait and see what kind of deals come to fruition before releasing their game themselves. *shrug* Not sure why so many people think I have anything to do with this, I haven't been commenting in the thread because I've been busy with other things and haven't gotten wrapped up in a pre-release thread since Minigore. What do you want me to say?
I wish there was something to confess. As is, the Dragonstryfe dudes are just making covering their game difficult and have basically wasted a substantial amount of my time I would have preferred spending on other things.
Well, ok. So Dragonstryfe is connected to this TechCrunch HTML5 thing. Would mean that there really could be a massive multiplayer online game... Just the way of promoting it failed. As far as I can guess, people believed that you made up the whole thing. You were the only one having some information and at the same time, you kept things very confidental. I just don't know why the Dragonstryfe devs aren't reacting to the failed promotion.
Probably because they're busy swimming in Zynga's money bin. And I don't think it was a promotion as much as it was just a stall tactic.
But why are these guys so secretive? Shouldn't they promote their "system" with everything they have, like "fire all cannons at once"? A whois tells me that they are even hiding their server/owner identity by paying money for it. I've got the feeling that there is something going really wrong. P.S.: you weren't supposed to tell us about the connection between Dragonstryfe and TechCrunch, no?
No more talking until we hit 3000/500,000. I am making an advent calendar and need an idea when this game will be available. It's a lot of chocolate.
True, the check just has to be big enough for 80 people sharing it. On the other side, what about licensing their code?
Don't want to know how much Zynga is making with their poker app alone... Seems as if all we can do is waiting what will happen with TechCrunch and Dragonstryfe.
The game doesn't even work .__. No matter how much I damage each dragon, they don't die/get captured.
Me neither. The day it was released, I could reload the page to get it to work again, but now that doesn't even work. Oh, and if you've noticed the enemy dragons just fly in a straight line until they hit a wall. Reminds me of lag on MMOs or something.
They are clones of real people. If you disconnect and connect sometimes you'll get a duplicate copy that is invincible. lol And when you disconnect again the clone just stays there. So, it's definitely a bug with the game.
I kinda just wish it would hit 500,000 just to see what they would do if it really is a stall tactic. Maybe when we hit that amount we will get another mini game to hold us over
I noticed when I started playing that I couldn't kill some dragons. And when the game started not to work great, I refreshed the page to reconnect again. And once in a while a clone of myself showed up and you aren't able to kill it.
"Congratulations! As a result of the limitless teamwork from the iOS community, we have captured a total of 500,000 dragon souls! You know what THIS means. Another FUN mini-game!"
