Take on the challenge of building the best possible station by commanding your minions and exploring the galaxy around you. Imagine a strategy game where you don't have to worry about selecting units or mounting attacks on your enemies, but rather can focus on building the best base possible. That's what rymdkapsel is all about. "Rymdkapsel feels tailor-made for iOS in both form and function, and its elegant, subtle constituent parts nest within one another as neatly as its four-block tetrominos snap together along a space station corridor." - 5/5 stars, Joseph Leray, toucharcade.com "Some games nearly make me miss my subway stop. Some games tempt me to keep on playing them while I'm walking down the street. This is one of them." - Stephen Totilo, kotaku.com "The game punishes the greedy, and rewards the prudent. If you’re attentive, you’ll notice that there’s actually a happy medium between the two: optimal efficiency." - Ryan Rigney, wired.co.uk "Rymdkapsel combines spatial puzzling, tower defence and base-building into a brilliantly coherent and stylish whole." - Christian Donlan, eurogamer.net Information Seller:webbfarbror AB Genre:Puzzle, Strategy Release:Aug 01, 2013 Updated:Sep 03, 2022 Version:4.0.3 Size:83.8 MB TouchArcade Rating: User Rating: (29) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #2 Talbs, Jul 31, 2013 Been waiting for this. Despite it's ultra-minimalistic (yet achingly pretty) aesthetics, Rymdkapsel is super deep and gloriously addictive. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. In fact, I'm gonna grab it again tonight so I can play it on my iPad's bigger screen! Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #6 Talbs, Jul 31, 2013 Thanks echo. I'm not bagging it, I just lol'd how if you just watch any video of this game, such as that short one by TA, it leaves you (well me anyway), thinking "what the heck was that all about!?". Lol. In this case I think it's a good thing. I'll likely be getting it. Just find watching videos of it, with no prior understanding, makes it funny to watch. toshiX Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2012 76 0 6 #7 toshiX, Jul 31, 2013 I'm getting this once its released. Bronxsta Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2012 4,698 6 38 http://indiegameenthusiast.blogspot.com/ #12 Bronxsta, Jul 31, 2013 I still dont understand the gameplay or the depth of the mechanics. How do the Tetris-esque modules come into play? What adds to the challenge/difficulty? Is it level based or roguelike style where you try to survive as long as possible? killercow Well-Known Member Apr 8, 2009 3,784 3 38 https://twitter.com/killercow #13 killercow, Jul 31, 2013 It's nothing like Star Command gameplay wise. Also the game is already out on Psvita so you can check some reviews if you'd like (Spoiler: They're all positive). I got it on my PS Vita and it's worth the price. Ok, it's not a game for everyone, but this is not a bad thing for sure. And require lots of thinking & planning to prevent lack of resource and complete the mission Building is quite like Tetris. Each time you wanna build the shape of the building is different. And you need corridor to connect your buildings. You can't move and destroy corridors once built There are three kind of resources Energy, material and food. Reactor produce energy Extractor are needed to place adjacent to particle field(which will deplete) in order to produce material. Food are first produced at gardens and then sent to kitchen and finally become food for producing minions in quarters.(2 minions per quarter) And there will be waves of enemy and you need to put minions into the weapons room(have attack range) and they will defend the base In the map there are some monolith on the map which have positive effect Idk how many missions are there but the first mission is to reseach all monolith and optional objectives.(like research all monolith in 45 minutes) That's basically how the game works The game looks good and it takes time to fully master this game Sorry for my bad English Aventador Well-Known Member Jan 16, 2013 933 1 0 Student Croatia #16 Aventador, Jul 31, 2013 How is the replayibility ? I mean are stages/ missions randomly generated or pre-scripted , are there various enemies , missions , do you get more upgrades / troop types as game progresses ? XxNMYPeTeRxX Member May 21, 2013 15 0 0 #17 XxNMYPeTeRxX, Jul 31, 2013 Umm from what I've played and what I've searched, basically there is only one map,3 missions. Which is 1.Research all monolith 2.Survive 28 waves 3.Research all monolith in less than 45 minutes. And there is no building upgrades and different troop types. But only 2 different shape of enemy until now Baracus Well-Known Member Jun 19, 2009 1,023 0 36 UK http://www.hatenintendo.co.uk #18 Baracus, Aug 1, 2013 This is my pick of all tonight's releases. I just spent an hour and half playing the first game without realising it! I love the way it gives you the basics in a tutorial then just leaves you to get on with it and discover what to do. I see what I did wrong in this run but I won't say any more as it would be a mild spoiler whatever I said! All I will say is I'm really looking forward to putting my theory into action tomorrow. And that's a good sign for a strategy game when you are planning the next match in your head. Great game, great design. Can't wait to master it! Think for real long term replayability once you crack the code there won't be much more to it but I tell you it's worth a play if you are into RTS or abstract systems management/time management. Underneath it is quite like Age of Empires purified. Filing Cabinet Well-Known Member Aug 20, 2011 997 0 16 #19 Filing Cabinet, Aug 1, 2013 Thanks for the impressions guys.
