OMG. REAL CARS? I don't need to get a life anymore. I'm looking forward to see the new best racing game for the idevices. And I just don't care how real the cars are. As long as the controls are as good as in the first one and the graphics and tracks are a lot better and more interesting (damn, I hate RR for these lame tracks, since everything else is so great).
Yep, I remember getting the original game just before finals the night it came out and then playing it late and being all sleepy during my math finals the next day... good times. This one will fix the only issue I had with the previous game - real cars. Hopefully they'll be well modeled and reflect real-world performance. And... it's a Firemint game
Real Racing 2 cinematic trailer released Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel This cinematic trailer shows some of the cars that will be featured in Real Racing 2, including: - 2006 BMW Z4 M Coupe Race Car - 2010 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R - 2010 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 - 2010 #33 Jaguar RSR XKR GT - 2010 Nissan GT-R (R35)
I must agree that the biggest problem with the first game is that the tracks were boring and bland. Everything else was pretty solid.
I got the feeling, we won't have to wait very long. You are not months away from release, if you already got your cinematic trailer in your sleeve (I hope). But from the trailer: it's still about classic race tracks, although the one in the video looks a bit pimped with details. But oh boy, what would I give for RR's gameplay in more interesting environments like cities etc. I love everything about this game except its visually extremely boring tracks.
Wait. Doesn't this trailer suggest, that RR2 will feature full damage system and knocking other cars out of the road...? The first one is a great idea, but second... We don't need another Asphalt!
I think the emphasis is still on realistic racing, if they do include damage it'll be just there to add to the realism. It won't be like Asphalt/Burnout. After all, accidents do happen in real life racing, so it'll be nice if in this game if the AI cars occasionally crash and cause pile-ups
asphalt and arcade sucks... we def. need some tuning options like GranTurismo back in the days, this and a bunch of achievement would make it an instant buy *hehe* I totally loved GT on my Playstation years ago
Personally, I love the arcade feel of Real Racing It's anything but realistic (at least the driving physics), but that's why I love it, the cars are an ease to steer. I still don't get the hang of Shift, as much as I want to love this game. But I'm a fan of easy and pumping races. Real Racing offers exactly that. I also don't need to adjust the color of my rear-view mirror. I hate it, when you are spending 8 of 10 minutes in customization menus. I just want to drive Preferences...
This looks amazing...wonder if it will move to any consoles as well as the Idevices. I hope it supports gen 2 iPod or my bank account will be suffering from having to update sooner than I thought.

I'm so glad Firemint went the extra mile to license real-world cars. The CG seems to suggest damage modeling too, but I don't much care about that. I wanna see a career mode as deep as that of Gameloft's GT Racing, with a more intuitive UI. I think we can assume tight controls, detailed graphics and real-time online play. This game could be freaking EPIC.
It's also on the front page: http://toucharcade.com/2010/11/24/real-racing-2-gameplay-video/ It's cool that this game will be able to play on even 1st generation devices.
Brilliant video, although the track looks boring again. But the graphics are just brilliant! I would love to have the look and feel of RR, but in a city or outside of race tracks. *daydreaming
