    I'll second that.

Update arrives Thursday according to the article. I'll just bet that's not NZDT. :p

Yeah there's nothing worse than downloading an update as soon as it hits the store only to find yourself locked out of your favourite game for three weeks while they fix some major bug.

    Thanks for the article, DeanK.

People made this same mistake when d/ling PF 1.2 when they no longer had the earlier version to update. It's frightening that the very same thing could happen again!! People could lose everything! Everything!! And I definitely don't fault players for deleting PF since the previous update was a looong time ago. Players might have reasonably assumed that PF was never going to be updated.

My question: will Plus+ STOP working when the update is released?! No transition time? Will NB warn its users in the description of this particularly deadly "Oops!"

And, huh, why so many frogs at once?! I simply don't get it. Oh well...

Then again, I don't run a successful business. NB must have some plan. Previously I thought it was having enough frogs to update the app periodically. Now I know I'm mistaken. So many frogs at once is intimidating, IMO. (<--unless they're potion/IAP frogs OR can be only found on a Mac ([like the latest PP update]).

Alas & alack (whatever that means).

My mood? Let's not go there.

"the addition of 40 new breeds of frogs"

Holy moly, there go my Froggydex ambitions. Still a welcome update. I wonder if they will add any extra habitats?

And nothing about what will happen to frogs in limbo with Plus+. I think at this point I'm going to ask people to please stop sending me frogs - I suspect my backlog is going to take a week or two (or more??) to get through at the moment so I probably won't update to the new version until my gifts all clear. I don't want to use up all my stamps on receiving gifts so will be trying to be patient ;)

I am also going to start adding you all to my game center - my GC ID is in my signature - dlstar71.

My mood reflects yours, Lisi. While I'm more than glad to know the timeframe for the update (even if it means I've lost Maholah's game:)), I'm almost devastated that we have to switch to Game Center. This will mean the loss of my 150-some strong neighborhood, and maybe even my high backlog on my first and third accounts. And 40 new breeds will seriously damage my 'dex percentage, especially on my second account RedSky58.

Another dilemma I have is that my iPad (RedSky) GC is DragonPuffer05, and I don't know how to change it to "RedSky58" without losing my DragonVale progress.

Ah, such a mess and so much stress. I'm glad I have some people here I can share my frustrations with and hope for some advice. Because I'm almost as angry as I am happy about this update.

By my calculations I will drop from 70% down to 39% with the total frogs jumping from 19,504 to 34,224 .

Maybe it's time for a preemptory GC add me thread in lead up to the change over?

The numbers seem really confused - on twitter he originally said 48 new breeds to make 100; this TA story says 40 new breeds to make 100; the actual number required is 47 new breeds lol, and the total should be a nice round 36,800, which will make 100% into 53% ... I just calculated that but it's kind of obvious as that would be 53/100 breeds lol. I really hope it is 100 total, I like the roundedness of that.

Anyway .. my GC is the same as this name. Assuming they can work gifting through GC, we may indeed need a thread for the switch lol. I'm not really frogging in the meantime.

If I remember right they said around 40 so they may have just been rounding. Either way, it's enough to bring brand new players down into the negatives! I agree with the statement that has been previously made here, that it would be wiser to indroduce these breeds a few at a time since 1) adding these will discourage 'dexers like me and 2) it will discourage later updates; a big factor since I have a bad feeling that this might be our last update.

Anyway, I'm in for the night. Happy dreams and happy frogging!:D -BW27

Yeah I like the idea of staggered release on the new breeds but on the other hand it would be staggered set-backs on the Froggydex too. I guess having my percentage so completely shot down takes some of the pressure off in terms of moving the finish line somewhere over the rainbow :). The short-term seasonal dragons in DragonVale can be frustrating to keep up with so I'm not sure I like that idea either. I already thought Pocket Frogs had been abandoned so I am happy to see an update. I guess it comes down to success or otherwise of revenue streams as to whether future updates eventuate.

It is an interesting decision I guess. Most of our Frog Share group ditched shortly after the last 10-breed update on account of thinking the game could never be "finished". Several of us were over 60% before that update hit, and it shot that down a long way ... or something like that.

As such, I quite like the idea of the big hit that we're waiting on now, but I guess that might not be the case were I still around 60% dexed. I guess you can't please everyone!

Gonna be interesting to see which levels they add to as well.

I'm just glad there is an update coming, after so long. Not bothered by switching from Plus to GC, either. Or that it might take 2 more years to complete the dex again, getting this far has been a lot of fun - so long may it continue.

I can't wait to see the new breeds, that purple froggy on the article looks cool, want to see it in Red Aurum!

Add me on GC now, if you like, instead of waiting for the update. ID = AndiNZ

    :)

I wonder if the 40+ new breeds will be available in the pond or through purchase only.
