A gamble by James that has gone badly wrong. He rightly or wrongly insists we wait for an update (with no date given for it) rather than either admit that NAZG is impossible and was a joke on the fans gone bad or provide hints via this forum.

There are those in all four camps
(1) it is impossible (the doubters, the lack of an update or any timeline for one)
(2) we should wait (the patient, he will produce an update soon, also known as those that hope)
(3) he should provide hints in this forum (the frustrated, no timeline for update and losing fans) and
(4) disappointed ex or soon to be ex-fans (the bored, not waiting, moved on to a different game)

Only time will tell which camp is right, though if James takes too long it may well be the last group.

I'd be in 3 if it wasn't for the fact that I see no reason why he can't hint here.
And he's given no reason other than "Just wants to put hints in the update".

But if you're gonna wait and program hints in, why not just post the hints here now? See ifwe can get it with hints now instead of when it gets dumbed down later.

I don't think it's impossible, just difficult to start or guess at or just hard to get the strategy down.

Either way, I'm more or less 4 now. Having done everything, my last thing was achievements where I only have one left.

So I'll pretty much just sit back, check here weekly or so to see if the update hit iOS yet since it'll be delayed on Android. Then wait for the next special disease to be added and subsequently wait for the next 'Not Another ____ Game" achievement to come with it.

 

I've stooped playing till the updates out when is it coming or at least a hint?

 

Hi, I'm new to this thread but I've read almost all NAZG posts trying to figure it out myself. I'm going to put what you guys have put correct me if I'm wrong:

We can't have CR.
You think nukes happen only post-zombies
There is some special start point.

That's the obvious stuff. If you haven't figured it out yet, the second is not true. The last time I tried, the Phillipenes nuked it's own city 'in an attempt to wipe out a massive population of citizens infected with NAZG-017

Also:
All animal transmissions speed cure and are not worth it.
We can only pray CR doesn't mutate

I thought you all said James gave a hint it was easily repeatable. So 2 can't be true'

And:
James has played a sick joke on you to see who is hacking.

If you think about that for a moment, that's ridiculous. Why on earth would he risk all that fame and money and time just to have a laugh? What, he got drunk one night, and decided to add a ghost achievement? Just quit trying to get him to post a clue through threats of losing fans, he'll posyt it when he wants to.

 

You make a point but he said himaelf that he was a bit harsh with NAZG so hacking seems to be the only way

 

Just an idea (I must admit that I did not read all 232 pages of this thread, so I may not be the first mentioning this..)

P.S. maybe start in New Zealand, where the movie was made?

 

Seeing what's been here this sounds strange enough to work as I remember in android market after nazg was added there was a note about litrary references and you shoud reward yourself for finding the in game ones

 

Starting in New Zealand and evolving bats1 (Ringwraiths?) brought up a message saying North Corea saved the ISS from a collision. Never saw this so early in game.

Maybe on the right track?

 

Done New Zealand, done bats, rats, every derivative I can think of on relation to zombies, vampires, resident evil, t-virus. Nothing.

 

This Lord of the Rings thing actually does sound crazy enough to work. But a couple of other things before we get dragged down another senseless rabbit hole:

It could also be a European country, such as Central Europe where the story takes place.

What about the other stuff we know? Such as how James did say it was hard (Thanks for that, I missed it) but he could do it, and the premonition that we are waaaaay over thinking all of this and there is just a special trick to figuring out the right combo of transmissions.

 

Two other things that may be breadcrumbs, but we did not yet make sense of:

It´s something random (like a mutation?), but something that is apparently part of a game mechanic..
Maybe there is symptoms or other things that we cannot actively evolve, but that need to be "discovered" by a spontaneous mutation?
(actually, this would be quite a cool feature )

Or we need enough DNA points to quickly to evolve the right combination of things and as yellow bubbles are "random", it may be random whether it is possible to achieve whatever you need to get NAZG.

Regarding the Lord of the Rings (Ash Nazg = The One Ring):
Possible starting countries could be:
New Zealand (Where the movie was made)
UK (Where Tolkien lived)
Iceland (Land of the Fairies)

Thank you very much for those areas, I never read those books or really paid much attention to the movies (I think about shrek every time I see the stone ogre in part 1.).

The Secret symptom through mutation would be pretty cool, but chances are if nobodys found a single thing like that so far, it's not there. Unless our game-sniffers/hackers/reverse-engineers/Altairs are keeping something from us. ( I like to call programmers some super cool name to make them feel better about themselves. James is already a super awesome name that can't be improved and, therefore, we should call him James.)

And regarding these quotes which are related responses, for those who don't know, its probably not a hint, just telling the guy he has a new randomizer mechanic. NAZG was apparently it public debut and he may apply it to all his algorithms: mutations, banner appearances and infection rates. The only thing I can't see is what he's testing. Maybe the programs favor one mutation to another, and the same for the others? Goodness knows Africa is infected faster than America. At any rate, James, if I was right please tell us so we can celebrate being beta-testers without knowing it! I'll think over what he may be trying to accomplish over pizza hut and Assassins Creed Revelations. The idiot pizza lady messed up and now whatever I buy next time is $8 for everything.

This talk about an unseen mutated symptom/transmission/ability sounds possible and its something that we haven't seen before . James care to comment on if this is wrong?

 

There is nothing in the files, but to counter that James has said we wouldn't find any hints for NAZG in the files.

He did mention awhile ago that its being redone with breadcrumbs and the current way of doing it will be used later for some other achievement till we can crack it. Update is still a month away on this timeline games don't generally let all upcoming content released in one article

Either way will still play this game when updates happen (its fun, was very happy to find this game), from time to time still try for NAZG fresh mind sometimes help.

New update

Speed run mode looks cool.

Also the CDC storyline adds more realism, aka contagion and other movies of same ilk the search for patient zero is critical.

 

Idea for getting NAZG, the trigger could be having a simple genome. James said it was a new mechanic, so it is not some starting country nonsense, and unless it is either really specific or counter intuitive, we should have gotten it by now. Having a minimalist genome is so simple it has to work (not really, this will likely fail, but i want to get working on it before the hints).
