Im not too harsh about fiddly input-methods on touchscreens, so i would definitely buy if things dont get too frustrating / overly hard. Obviously we're a little biased, but we've tried really hard to make the game (which used up all the buttons on a PS4 controller!) work on mobile. Without a controller, it's a blend of swiping (to move, jump up and crouch/roll) and buttons (to use, chant, talk etc). We think it's the right solution as it means you can swiftly run and jump and roll out of danger with the invisible joypad, but also offer precise controls when needed. All the buttons can be moved and resized, too, for comfort. We also added a dedicated 'hop' button that jumps Abe forward a little, really useful for mines and such. That said, New 'n' Tasty's a hard game. There is an easy mode, though, and we offer full (and instant) quicksave and quickload buttons. Edit: just to add, because the game came out a little while back on PS4 (and other consoles after) there are loads of YouTube videos on the game - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHwE8yRABs4 - for example. Edit 2: we offer lots of visual toggles too, such as the ability to switch off bloom, or lower the resolution. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,954 712 113 England #10 psj3809, Dec 14, 2017 Thanks for bringing this to iOS. Been watching those videos on youtube and it looks an amazing remake of the original classic. So can i check, the invisible joypad, its just a case of pressing left/right or swiping ? To go up a ladder you just swipe up then near a ladder ? Or do you 'press' up ? Cheers OddworldTeam Member Dec 14, 2017 20 0 0 #11 OddworldTeam, Dec 14, 2017 To move left and right, you hold on the left side of the screen and gently push in the direction. It's analog, so Abe will walk and then run depending on how far. There aren't any ladders, but any doors etc are just a tap of the action button. As far as I can see, it handles full res with all bells and whistles turned on without a massive drop in framerate. OddworldTeam Member Dec 14, 2017 20 0 0 #18 OddworldTeam, Dec 14, 2017 Yeah we wanted to give people the right options, and the ability to change whatever they wanted. Some people weren't keen on all the post-processing visual flair on console, so giving people the toggles lets them decide (and obviously, reduces a little strain on the phone too). The resolution slider's pretty handy at getting back some frames if needed.
