So I started playing Stranger Cases, though I have to confess it's the Android version (I'd imagine they aren't too much different if at all). So far I'm really enjoying it. The artwork is great, the characters are silly and the puzzles are generally not too difficult. There are a couple of times I had to use a hint because I just wasn't sure where to click on something to do what I wanted, but it's mostly been pretty straightforward as I've played. My biggest complaints are (1) it walks you through too much of the first room, and (2) it plays an ad after every room is complete. The second one wouldn't be too bad if the entire game were free, but since I already have to pay to get the rest of the game and if I want more than 10 hints, I think the ads are overkill. Still, that's minor given the quality of the game. One thing I appreciate about Stranger Cases versus the Faraway games from the same developer is that the individual segments you have to complete seem to be shorter here, so it feels like you're being rewarded more frequently by finishing levels.

Sorry my bad for not clarifying this enough, I meant when I use the tabs "Paid" AND "New" (other than that I just get a lot of games/apps that have been updated or received a price change (Ski Jump Zero seems to be one of those having been released 7 months ago) (*edit at the bottom)

But I made one error and chose the tab "Popular" instead of "All". Still, even when I use "All", the "newest" game shown is Pocket City from 6 weeks ago. Harvey’s New Eyes alone was just released 2 or 3 weeks ago and there still gotta be plenty more premium apps or games - even in the current climate.

So I’m sure you’re right that there gotta be some issues with Apple, the coding or something similar. Just weird that they still haven’t fixed it after this long time. Maybe this also has to do with the fact that Apple is going to stop its affiliate program (I don’t know why but they’re really working hard to put sites like Appshopper or TA out of business with moves like this or killing TA’s app for iOS 11 and up ...)

On the other hand, those news are from last month and Appshopper is plagued with those issues quite a but longer.

*Edit: Ok, weird. You’re right, there are at least some newer premium games. This just is an issue if you use the Paid tab (alas when using "All" you gotta sift through a huge heap of f2p games to find a few paid ones though). Funnily, as long as using the Paid tab, it also makes little difference if I use Games or All categories, it just shows games … If anyhow possible, this site could really use an overhaul.

I see what you're getting at. There is definitely a problem with the filtering. As to why they don't fix it after all this time, I'm not sure. I do know that in past communications with them, they seemed very reluctant to admit that any problems with the site were theirs. Maybe they've finally just given up? That would be a shame, because it was such a useful site for me.

They're an extremely useful site and there's none other quite like it (148apps has a similar function showing new releases but theirs doesn't come close to Appshopper in terms of categories and volume).

Also really hope they'll get it together but with the current issues being predominant for months now and them - when asked about it - showing this attitude you described chances for improvement seem rather slim atm.

    Still, hope dies last.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, because you're right. The first time they had issues for an extended period of time I did some searching and there's really not another site out there that does things they way they do. Personally, I kind of wish they'd not only get the site moving in the right direction again but also make an Android version as well :)

New puzzle adventure, looks intriguing and reviews and comments I‘ve seen so far are all rather positive:

I remember playing the demo version of this some time ago, and it was really cool. I'm just waiting for the full version to hit Android.

I've actually had the Android phone since Christmas, and only out of necessity (got the phone for free with a plan). I'd love to get back to an iPad, but that's not going to happen unless a lot of donations suddenly appear in my Paypal account or something. I just don't have the money right now. I do miss the big screen for hidden object games, though :)

    Hi guys,

found a pretty good, thorough list with a lot of new and older mobile adventure releases of the last years:

    https://www.adventure-treff.de/forum/1/20463

It’s a German forum but don’t worry, the games listed have App Store links. Hope some of you find the odd title you may have overlooked on release.

If a title is marked with the bold word "entfernt" that means this game has been removed from the App Store by the dev/publisher.

Hey everyone, we're really sorry to have gone so radio silent over the past few months, but things have been very busy at Castle Glitch. Between having to deal with GDPR updates for all our games, a new baby, and various other things it's been hard to keep everyone up to date, however Veritas is coming along very nicely.

Kind of a good news/bad news type situation though. We've decided to delay the release until 2019, but we do have a new teaser trailer ( and updated alpha build in our Discord for anyone that is interested ) - https://glitch.games/veritas-delayed-until-2019/

Well it's never "good" to hear about a Glitch Games game being delayed, but we'll always take them late rather than never :) Congrats on the baby, and hope things over at the GG camp are a bit more settled these days!

Yea we really wish we didn't have to delay it but we think it's for the best, hopefully we'll be right.

Thanks! Yea things are getting much calmer now, still dealing with updates to our previous games though but getting there.

We're not great at updating the world on our progress but we're trying to get better, we also have a Discord now that has access to our current alpha build for anyone that is interested - https://glitch.games/community/discord/ - this is for iOS, Android, Windows, and OSX

Haven't had a chance to check this one out yet, but I will do that soon. I finally broke down and emailed the folks at AppShopper yesterday to find out what was going on, and apparently there's something in their system that's not updating their databases correctly. I would assume that they are keeping tabs on how long it's been out of commission, but based on the response I got from them I'm not sure they realize it's been "down" for the better part of at least 3 months now. But, they are working on it, so hopefully they'll get it back up and running before the end of the year.
