CookingPie Well-Known Member Mar 25, 2014 177 0 16 #11 CookingPie, Jun 8, 2014 Last edited: Jun 8, 2014 so you were one of the people who bought it for $ 2 were you? i have now put about an hour into the game and have enjoyed it enough to say it is easily worth 2,3 or perhaps $5 (assuming the quality of the puzzles stays the same or gets better). the controls are fine - and dieing (lots) is clearly a major part of the 'novelty' of playing this game. i even went back to a puzzle that i managed to survive first time to see what the death animation would look like if i had failed!! i wouldn't have paid $4 or 5 for this game because i didn't know how much i would like it. and am delighted to have picked it up at the bargain price of $1. i just think it is a short-term money grabbing technique to drop the price first to 2 then a few days later to 1. and it hurts the reputation of the app store. but i have quickly learned that there is no real consistency to app store prices and price drops. i have decided that unless i really need an app (and no 'game' fits this criterion) then i will wait till it drops to $1 or 2 before i buy because if ( and this has happened to me quite a few times already ) it becomes free soon after, then i won't feel gutted that i wasted a dollar. but if a game is more than 3 dollars then i remind myself of the ton of games i already have (and have hardly played through) and conclude i can wait for a price drop. the argument that developers need to eat is fair enough, but we all must remember the install-base of users who are ready to spend a dollar on a game is massive. also, whereas xbox1 and ps4 console games don't work on an older device, most apps will work fine on a 4s or ipad2, and of course there are far more people who have an iphone than own an xbox or ps4. so i don't need to feel bad for waiting for the inevitable price drop.
