I'm not really spending much time at TA anymore but there was no way in hell I could stop myself from posting about this game. I love me some endless runners and have played (and loved) quite a few of them. Jetpack Joyride is without any doubt The absolute best I've tried in a long time. Every g-damn iPhone game 'claims' to be highly addictive and polished but in case of Jetpack Joyride, it IS the case. Once you get into it, you wont be able to stop yourself until you unlock everything in the game, which will take you about 6-7 hours appx. And then there are collectible tokens (or w/e they are called, mot sure) which you recieve once you complete all the mini goals in game. Now those are going to take you a life time to get them all as you get only one per cycle of in game goals. Not something I intend to do intentionally, but I dont mind the fact that the game does reward me a little as I continue to play it even after I've unlocked all the stuff. About the gameplay itself, Eli already posted a preview a few days ago which explains it very well. I wont be able to do a better job anyways so check that out instead. Its got lasers, missiles, zappers, powerups, coins, shit load of ridiculously awesome unlocakables, missions, spin tokens and even more crap that will keep you playing until your iDevice' battery runs dry. BUT the best part for me is how great the game looks. The graphics are just fantastic. Watching the screeshots and videos will give you some idea how it looks in action, but so far, I dont think any of the videos/images do justice to the game I played on the ipad. Its just absolutely gorgeous to look at. The unlockables are just awesome and the only thing I could for here is.. MORE! More missions, more unlockables, more of everything else this game has. Another cool lttle thing I liked is the the automatic snapshots. The game will take one snapshot per game randomly at any point of time during your game. This results in some really funny snapshots quite a few times. I saved over 50 of them but unfortunately lost them thanks to the iOS 5 beta on my iPad >.< And btw, before some smartass 8yr old tries to diss the game for having IAPs and claims the game is 'obviously' balanced in favor of them, DONT! It has IAPs but everything can be unlocked by playing the game and the fact is, it is FUN to play the game and unlock them yourself. The IAPs are there if you want to try all the jetpacks, clothings etc without waiting to unlock manually. But you can unlock them without too much effort anyways, so no real need to buy any IAPs. The game is a ton more fun without them. The only practical reason why you'd want to buy IAP (IMO) will be if you want to say thank you to halfbrick (assuming you enjoyed the game enough). In the end, if you even remotely like endless runners, dont think twice before grabbing it. Even if you dont, atleast watch the gameplay videos, read the previews, reviews and if it looks anywhere close to interesting, grab it. You wont be disappointed. Halfbrick did add some filters to make it look a little fuzzy (for lack of better word) to make sure it looks a lot more pleasing to eyes when in motion as compared to the the crystal clear graphics. I did a bad job of explaining it but halfbrick posted about this in the upcoming thread. Check that out for more clarification.
