Yeah, you may be right, but I already placed my bet... I hope this is not a god of war like "press the button on the right time" only
Have you even watched a single video or read any of the interviews about this game? Take a couple of minutes to look at and read these: Pocketgamer interview Gametrailers HD Trailer Gametrailers Video Interview (see chapter 2) MTV Multiplayer interview Now, where in any of those does it suggest tap a button at the right time?
Graphics in this game seems like it would be too much for the older generations of iPhones and iPods. I will be severely disappointed if they don't come out with the same game but less intense graphics to enable compatibility. Not everyone has the kind of money to shell out for another iDevice.
I need this game now! You could get an extra job at a retail store somewhere, work there for a few weeks, and have enough to get a new iPod touch. That's what one of my friends did. The upgrade from 2nd gen to 4th gen is absolutely worth it. I love the retina display, improved performance, extra ram, microphone, and cameras.
Brad did a pretty awesome interview today- http://toucharcade.com/2010/11/15/infinity-blade-interview/
Due to the latest article on TA, the game will be out "this holiday". Which holiday?(I don't live in the U.S.)
Then too bad. You don't get to play the game. We can't have iOS games always supporting ancient hardware, or things will never advance. I'm glad some games are finally being made that take full advantage of the newer hardware.
Yeah, I know it's too bad for people that have older device, but think, the App Store already has a vast selection of games that run on your device... It's just like the PC... You can always wait a little bit, so when you buy your new iPhone/iPod Touch, you will have a lot of titles with new technologies... I always did that with the PC... I remember trying to play Oblivion with a crap computer, running it on 800x600, everything on low, and I just waited 2 years, and had a great time, with all the graphics on highest, and with a lot of wiki and data about the game...
It's easy to know when someone wants to start a brawl... Just walk away... Very good piece of interview, btw... Congrats to Touch Arcade, for getting the info that everybody wanted... I'm starting to get excited about this game... Just hope that their investment pays off, so we can expect the updates they are mentioning...
It could be Thanksgiving or Christmas. Thanksgiving is a week from now, and Christmas is on December 25th. A few weeks ago they said it would be out in a few weeks. I'm hoping for a Thanksgiving release. "Only the hardware behind iPhone and iPod touch makes a glossy, high-definition game like this possible - PSP doesn't run in high-resolution, Nintendo 3DS isn't powerful enough, and Android handset configurations vary too much to support high-end games." -- Donald Mustard (Chair/Epic)
Thing is, new iPod Touches get released almost every year. That's a lot faster than how consoles are released these days. Plus, all the iPods and iPhones gens still work very similarly. It's just the matter of performance and a slight bit more functionality. So basically I'm just paying for more RAM and speed, but it's the same product. Most annoying part is that most of the new and better apps are always going to take advantage of the new specs, which I don't mind. But they always forget about the older gen owners. If I knew any marketing techniques, I would make it to where all gens can play my app, but have different graphic parameters displaying on each one. Yes, that's always more work, but it usually nets more money. "Get a job" or "This is why Gamecube and ps2 games aren't being released now" is illegit in this. I don't need to pay for practically the same product with better specs every year to be able to play all the apps, which sucks for me as a gamer. I don't need to pay $200++ every year like I'm paying for a yearly subscription. Don't be unreasonable towards my post, especially in America's economy and retarded decisions towards products. Some of you probably didn't mean it, but you should take it with a grain of salt. Slight wall o' text, sorry.
zxelman, Yeah, these comments are not nice and dumb, but I think you're completely wrong: Yes, you have... According to your line of thought, all PC softwares should be compatible with Windows 95... Or compatible with a Voodoo graphic card, 256 mg of RAM, with a 400 megs harddisk requirement. This is technology, my friend... They already told that the game would be compatible with 3GS... Here you're right. You broaden your market, but costs more... You can be sure that they did this research... In the end, I think you guys get a little spoiled with consoles... I've been playing PC games for almost 15 years, and I can't count how many times I had to update my hardware...
