contest.ezone.com/ comes from the puzzle before. These represent A B and C. D comes from 2 pictures: Disco4 and discocloseup2 and D=4-2=2.
I seen this at home and it didn't quite seem right but I didn't have time to think about it. On the way in to work I realized what was incorrect but close. First I don't believe it's contest.ezone.com haven't tried it but I think what you meant eas iPhone.ezone.com second although a good reason, the real solution is: 'disco4 - discocloseup2' where you subtract the letters in common that are in the second word from the first. Ignore the non common letters, but when it comes to numbers you do the actual subtraction. So disco4 minus the letters leaves you with 4. Then subtract the 2 from the second word and you end up with an answer of 2. Look back at the few previous examples and they all involve subtracting letters. Btw congrats times 2 staulcub. You're making it hard to catchup. I'm fighting a cold so I missed these last two entirely.
It changed to contest.ezone.com on the previous puzzle. We were given ABCD as the format, so now we have "D" instead of "4". Sucks that you're sick. Me too, and my kids.
hey thanks, I really didn't look at the puzzle that close, so again thanks for correcting me. I'll keep that in mind when I solve the next one Tis the season for flu and colds. Hope you and yours get well soon.
Rank update! Okay... just for fun, I processed all of the data and posts on this thread to see where everyone stands (rank-wise) in the running for the Grand Prize... So far (taking into account who has solved the most, who has helped the most, who has tried the hardest, who has the best manners, who has accumulated the most eligibility points, who has been given the most eligibility points, who has really tried, who has dropped the most hints, who has given it their all despite chasing red herrings and going off on wild goose chases, who has finally understood the hints, who has used both sides of their brain to the fullest, who has stepped in at the last second to solve the puzzle, who has taken the wildest guesses, who has come up with the most amazing deciphering ideas, who has blown the most gaskets, who has lost the most sleep, who has shown the most devotion to deciphering, who was the fastest at solving the puzzles, who has solved the most puzzles in a row, who has spoon-fed the answer to other players, who has been spoon-fed the answer by other players, who has raced in at the last second and used the answer that someone had just provided without realising that they had just provided it, who has waited for everyone to go to sleep in order to solve the puzzles etc) this is the updated top 10 list of names of who currently has the best chance of winning the grand prize of a Parrot AR. Drone (a cool hover toy!!!) 1. staulcub 2. pajo_ojap 3. cjsbug 4. jwcasser 5. hiurdin 6. cloudcastles 7. Daldaris & da shiz wiz 19 8. warcrack 9. KoOne23 10.speed4mee Note: This list may change depending on how the rest of the contest continues... As you can see (if you look through this thread)... we've had quite a shuffle of names as we've progressed through this contest! So you never know! You've got to be in it for a chance at the Grand Prize! So get in there! If your name hasn't made the list - you need to try harder (you may just be in position 11)! Extra note: You don't need to actually solve the puzzles in order to be eligible... you may earn eligibility by just being helpful in the thread! Good luck everyone! Be on the look out for more puzzles!!
I think I owe you a slight apology! I blame it on my cold infested sinuses. When I read the above now it makes more sense then what I originally thought. I was thinking you meant you take the 'D' from both of the pictures to get the number '2' as in 2 D's, which was the answer. I totally missed the D=4-2=2 at the end of you message. About the only thing I got right was the explanation of subtracting the letters from words to leave you with the 4 and 2. In reality what you were saying was that what the 'D' component of the answer is. Sorry dude, should of had more faith in your skills.
okay..., but I can't guarantee I'll be in any condition to work on it. Maybe you won't find it until say, oh 12 hours from now?!? This sinus/cold is killing me, by far the worst/longest day yet. Work was almost unbearable. The brain just doesn't want to think or focus. Guess we will see what happens.
Yikes... I hope you feel better soon. That's where it is good to be a robot - if my nose starts acting up I can always exchange it for a new one...
This is where things start to get really interesting... I still haven't found any new encrypted data packets... There can't be many more left to find! But . While I'm searching I've come up with a way that everyone can have a better chance to earn more eligibility points without having to solve really hard puzzles (or be awake to solve them in time) . It's easy... all you have to do is tell us (or show us... drawing/video) what you'd do if you had this Hover Board... The three best, most creative entries (decided by me ) will win eligibility points * The Top answer will earn 5 eligibility points and a US$25 US app store gift certificate!! * The Second top answer will earn 4 eligibility points, * The Third top answer will earn 3 eligibility points! That means if you are in the top 10 of the overall ranking you may just jump to the number 1 spot or at least close to it! Or if you are in the number 1 spot of the overall ranking you may just further solidify your top overall position! Here is the current overall ranking: 1. staulcub 2. pajo_ojap 3. cjsbug 4. jwcasser 5. hiurdin 6. cloudcastles 7. Daldaris & da shiz wiz 19 8. warcrack 9. KoOne23 10.speed4mee Don't forget this is the updated top 10 list of names of who currently has the best chance of winning the grand prize of a Parrot AR. Drone (a cool hover toy!!!) Oh you can enter as many times as you want but only your best entry will be counted (i.e. you can't win all three top three positions). At this point you have until the end of this month to get your entries in! Well... get creative and get posting! No pressure!
Wow! I'm floored! All this hard work... Looks like the rules have changed and I will have to change my game!
On the contrary! Your lead at the moment is extreme to say the least. Plus... with a bit of creativity with your entry - your number 1 position may become untouchable! Get back up off the floor... The contest is not over yet!
!!! Don't forget the grand prize... See more Parrot drone action here: http://toucharcade.com/2010/11/19/ar-pursuit-announced/
If I had that Parrot AR Drone hover board, I'd fly it everywhere. First, of course, I'd practice maneuvering it in a wide open space so I don't crash my cool new board, and then when I've developed enough finesse, why, I'd fly it right into shopping malls and even the Apple store. People will obviously stop and stare at my awesome flying machine and ask me all about it. And then I'll thrust out my iPhone or iPad and show them Hover World. At this point, I'll surreptitiously hide the hover board by stuffing it in a big black bag or slip it behind a tall potted plant (as a backup, I'll have hired a part-time assistant to help misdirect my audience's attention). Now, all that my curious onlookers will be focused on is Hover World. "Wow, look at what you can do in Hover World. Zoom about on a cool board, walk and run through this gorgeous world. If you feel like jumping like a madman, go ahead. No one's going to stare. If you're angry with someone, fight it out. You won't land in jail. You can also climb and hang off walls, no need for any rope. Oh, and ... Wanna boogie?" I guess the dialogue won't actually come about. Showing is always better than telling. Hover World will speak for itself -- with the help of my thumbs. If I had that Parrot AR Drone hover board, be prepared to sell thousands of copies of Hover World. No, hmm, let's make that millions. Surely someone will be shooting videos of my cool new board, and then I'll shove Hover World in front of their lens. It'll go up on cable news, on Youtube, turn viral, and ... millions ... no, zillions? Hover World hovers, no, rockets up to #1.... The rest of the tale is history. From now on, all that the world will know is Hover World.
Cool! Our first entry! So far cloudcastles has the most creative entry BTW... the ezone Hover Board is called the Hover World iBoard. The AR Parrot Drone is just the grandprize... Great entry all the same! Well Done! Anyone else?
