I have an idea. New character, the monster. Play as the monster, chasing a pre-made hooker tailored at the level's difficulty. Stop, I know you're thinking, how can just chasing a hooker be fun? (I know hooker sounds funny ;P) So, I have 2 ideas for this. 1. make hard hookers for each level, ones that fire shots at the right moment, have good times, and are hard to keep up with. 2. make the controls hard, but not frustrating, for the monster. For example, there could be a left-up--right pad that moved across the screen, up being jump, and the lateral directions being forward and backward. another way to make them hard would be to make the controls lag for a second. so, you press and hold down left, and in one second you start to move left. to make a jump correctly, you have to anticipate the jump and press up before you get to the edge. Also, when the game makes ghosts (downloadable hookers to compete against), you could try to catch them. And, if the game ever has real time online, you could compete with friends. I think this should be unlockable, and not just "here is a new character" type update. Maybe something like beat all levels without seeing the skull on screen for 90% of the level, or shooting the skull 100 times, or something else. Also, Kepa, what are we going to be able to sink coins on?
Real matuuuure. There's a Hook Champ review that is all over adult content blogs now. In the review I'm thinking of, they made "swinger" jokes repeatedly. Apparently those sites just kind of automatically link to other sites based on keyword. All 1 star reviews we've had on the app store come from people on these sites that claim to have been mislead.
Not sure, haven't heard from them. They're possibly busy. We're getting pretty close to submitting the actual update to Apple. We just have one more feature to put in. I'm planning on being way less secretive about things for update 2. I just wanted update 1 to be a surprise because we made some major changes and it was the first content patch. I'll pretty much just blab in this thread about what's going to be in update 2 as soon as update 1 hits. Update 3 will be another super secret update.
That was it. Thanks! I'm very much looking forward to the update and some new levels. Until then I will continue to guard the coveted silver wimpy.
The update is needed urgently before this thread sinks without trace. Still determined to get #1 on Golden Bull... still languishing in 3rd though.
Hook Champ rules. Thanks, devel. Can't wait for updates. I know it was mentioned earlier in this thread, but can someone remind me: 1. How the crown is achieved? 2. How the skull levels/challenge stages are unlocked? Once again, awesome game.
1. Getting first place on the online scoreboard. 2. Beating all the other levels then buying the map.
Thanks for the info. I assume it's 1st place globally, since I already unlocked a hat for 6 1sts locally.
You get various hats for getting increasing numbers of #1 local scores, but yes, the crown is only for attaining a #1 global score.
We expect to submit the update by this weekend. It's a huge update. We'll also make sure information about the update is provided by that time, at the latest. We've been secretive about it because it's a biggun. Update 2 will be a lot more open. As soon as Update 1 hits, I'll pretty much just spell out what all the Update 2 features are going to be, and will also take requests. Update 3 will also be secretive, due to a massive feature.
Cant wait for the update! In the beginning of the video, it said 'Free Update #1' , Does that mean there will be paid updates later on?
H yeah. I was just about to post that. OpenFeint Challenges are also in the first update. We didn't hype it up a lot in the video because we weren't sure how strongly we'd support it. Right now, it looks like we're going to make the Challenge support for the first update pretty beefy. Being able to see the Ghost Character of your challenger as you try to beat their challenge is going to make it in, barring any horrifying bugs that require us to remove it. It's basically asynchronous multiplayer. Update 2 will include more Challenge modes and options on top of that. There's a bunch of minor features in the first update, too. One that springs to mind is the game respecting the iPhone's mute function. We actually didn't forget about that for release: it just doesn't work right now due to a small bug. At this point, any questions about update 1 are fair game. I'll be watching the thread!
