Are there powerups? (slow time, dual wield, rain of fruit)

Is there a story? (defeat the giant plum)

Are there challenges? (slash x fruit in y seconds)

So far it sounds like it might be a very fun and stylish game but boils down to slicing tossed up fruit without letting any slip past you or accidentally trying to slice a bomb. The only twist, scoring wise, is that you can sometimes do a perfect slice (a "critical") for 10 points as opposed to the normal 1 point per successful slice.

It's a dollar, and everyone is saying it's fun, just buy it. Why do you need to consider a dollar purchase so much, you'd spend more than that on a drink.

    800 five-star reviews in iTunes!

25% of the "most critical" (one star) reviews of the current version say it's the best game ever played. No joke. Look it up on iTunes.

If you like pickup and play games that are fast paced and great for line-waiting or bathroom breaks, this is a perfect one to get.

The answer is simple. The game is a typical high score game where the goal is to replay it over and over and achieve a new high score and to complete achievements.

Yes it is repetative as you spend your entire time slicing fruit and avoiding bombs however, that is the nature of these types of games. If you like games that have you coming back to play over and over just to beat your previous high score then this is worth picking up, especially for $1.

Also I wouldn't worry about repetition as the developers are working on updating the game with new game modes to keep things different. They already have a new game mode (Zen mode) coming in the next update which has you slicing away at endless waves of fruit.

I can say for a fact that the developers are commited to making the customers happy and they are working hard to improve the game and add features that the customers want. For the simple fact that the devs are so commited to maintaining a good relashion with their customers by including their suggestions in updates and helping out with questions here I think they are worthy of the single $1 they charge. :D

bought the game when the review of it came out,
graphics is good and awesomely fun to watch when you slice a fruit.
it gets repetitive after awhile but definitely worth the $1 since i can replay it to past a few mins here and there if needed.

wish there was something like power ups/ combos etc etc though

Have you guys thought about adding Shurikens as an alternate method of slicing fruit? Instead of swiping to slice fruit, players can touch the fruit to throw a shuriken that slices the fruit in two. There should be an animation of a shuriken flying across the screen and sticking to the wall to differentiate it some from katana slicing.

Tapping fruit is boring and too easy.

Yeah it might be too easy. But throwing shurikens is never boring.

Hmm... Maybe, instead of a tap, an upward slice is done to "throw" the shuriken. The shuriken would stick to the back wall in the exact place the swipe ended. The shuriken's speed is determined by how fast the swipe is done.

Not sure how fun this mode would be, but who knows?

an upward slice might feel pretty cool for shuriken throwing, but sometimes I never lift my finger from the screen when I'm slicing and slice in every direction imaginable. I think a tap would be better to help differentiate it from katana slicing.

If they did add shuriken's I wouldn't want them to make a separate mode for it, I'd want it to be part of the modes already in the game. If shurikens were too easy to use then they could maybe limit how many you have. Like let's say you start each game with 10 shuriken, and you can earn more shuriken at every 100 points. Or they can have some star-shaped fruit that resemble shuriken that you slice to earn more shuriken's.
