I died at level 10 or 11, I forget. 11 I think. I do have 4 intermediate runes already and then 1 major and 1 legendary so I guess I probably wasn't eligible for anything then. Any advice on what to shoot for when it comes to trying to get more majors/legendaries? Is it even possible starting at level 1 or are they awarded at higher levels only?
Yeah it sounds like the game wanted to give you an intermediate but you were already at intermediate or higher in all categories. Not in front of the code atm but from memory it looks like this, with some random factor.. like a death at level 11 could give a major sometimes: 1-5: Minor 6-11: Intermediate 12-15: Major 16+: Legendary If you have a small level span from your starting level (which is not a problem if you start at level 1) your resulting rune will be capped to certain levels. You need at least a 5-6 level span to be eligible for a legendary on top of the death level requirement. Say if you do a 10-11 to 17 you'll be good for a legendary.
So hypothetically if all my classes start at level 18 but I only have one legendary it's going to be really hard to get any more legendaries after that, huh?
If your goal is to farm legendaries you can untick the starting level and start at level 1 - kinda like you did with your warrior. Spoiler You will also get one for completing the game for the first time on any class.
Not all of my starting levels are maxed out yet so I'm not in this situation yet, but I'm just trying to prepare. Grinding them out 1 to 16+ is pretty hardcore though, I dig it.
Ooh, that's a nifty tip about farming legendaries & how runes work - thanks, Dominic! I think I'm a bit aways from that right now. I'm currently at the sticking point of level 10 - I think I may have gotten as high as 11, but I find my poor Ranger dying much more often. Just need to play more defensively.. and avoid enemies that can surge. Oh, & I've had a few games where I started in a different place on the screen (instead of south west) and for such a small detail, it makes things more interesting.
Initially in my design the ranger had out of range Surges and Breath hitting for full damage.. let's just say that didn't last! Fun fact: I got an email bug report about the game starting in the wrong corner
This game was a steal at 0.99 and even buying the 6.99 platinum IAP was totally worth it and even felt like it was still cheap. When I bought it, it was kind of an impulse buy and I didn't know if I'd stick with the game but wow il glad I did.
Report: I am not sure if this has been reported -- I have a quest to find 3 Copper Ingots but I can find 2, and I do not see any after I clear the area (and the next one) and dungeons.
I voted for a new class, more encounters, and alternate movement options as long as tap destination to move is available on iPhone/iPod as well. I think that'd be cool.
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you like the game. Thanks for the report. You're running 1.21 I assume? I had it reported in the past but couldn't reproduce it after an hour of non stop map generation with the latest map code. Shouldn't happen often hopefully. I'll have a look at this one. Think it's my only one left who doesn't always spawn next to the road and thus could be blocked but I'll do a review on each of them to be sure.
Love it but... ... is it just me who can spank the game with the Ranger and can't get anyone else past level 4-5? Voted on the website for a bonus class. Not sayin, just sayin, got this quest from a Mentalist who wanted me to grab some Oculus eyes to improve his something something, and I thought "sure would be sweet to be able to play as a Mentalist... I want to charm/dominate some fools."
I had the same experience with the ranger. I got to the high teens with it no problem. Now I'm at a point where all my classes are kind of stuck. No matter how smart I play, there will inevitably come battles where I get bad rolls and simply cannot keep up with the enemy offense. It gets frustrating because you just feel like you're getting cheated by the RNG as opposed to losing due to any fault of your own. I took a break to try some other games I had on my radar and will come back later to try to finally beat it.
I prioritized Life Scroll drop runes for that reason. Still, the basic approach of inner focus on 2+ claws, bestial rage on 3+ claw/bow (ideally with significant range, frequently right after Wild Leaps) and Wild Leaps at 3+ claws really worked. Ranger is my only win because, I think, of the mix of near-perfect mitigation at range and the ability to prioritize offense and defense at the same time. All the better that claws do all this while setting up even more hurt through Trueshot.
So there's a new version on the AppStore called Dungeon Plunder RPG. It's free but says it isn't a lite. Anyone know what that's about? Sorry if this has already been answered. I haven't been keeping up with the thread.
Yes I introduced this alternate version yesterday. Kind of an experiment, we'll see how it goes. Here's the difference between the RPG (free) and regular (paid) version: - 2 classes (Warrior, Mage) vs 3 - Ads vs No Ads - Lower legacy gold - Performance IAPs (Runes, lifescrolls) vs None It's a complete game and otherwise behaves like the paid version. These differences (besides the presence of performance IAPs) will go away once a mix of 3 classes and/or skin packs are bought. I updated the description of the paid version to clarify it.
