That's kind of where I'm going with this. They cannot continue to sell a game that has a significant flaw because that will be worse from a reputation perspective. The dev knows about this, and at this point, they can't act as if they don't by continuing to sell the game as is. Perception wise, they need to pick between evils, and leaving it up will lead to the worse possible one.
Nah, I did. I just went off on a slightly different tangent in response. It's been that sort of day Anyway, even iDracula has some "read" issues with regard to the controls, but it's not the movement circle but the "aim/shoot" circle. There's a bit of delay that pops up every now and again. So nothing's "perfect" as yet.
For the record, the sticking occurs in the casual controls as well. It's not ideal, but you can kind of workaround by exaggerating your presses. Definitely needs a fix, however.
There is no great solution to this, but I think pulling it will be a mistake. The app store already has a bit of an update culture to it. It's not like you have to pull physical boxes off of the stores and get people to come to a retail location for a buggy product fix. The dev sounds very serious about his concern and motivation for fixing this sooner rather than later. I've played using modified digital controls (moved around) and the "tapping" analogue method that Arn showed in the video. Neither are perfect, but both work. To those saying the game is unplayable, you're just wrong. It may not be perfect or to your liking, but the game is playable. After my experimentation and tweaking (yes, this should have been done by the beta testers, but I actually kind of like this process) I have finally decided that for me, Arn's method works the best. I'll go with that until they update it. Since I'm not a 3-4 hour gaming session guy anyway, I'm sure that I'll have a LOT of content to go through with fixed controls. My 2 cents...I know that there are many that really are passionate about bugs, but it is NOT unplayable.
Ive written it a couple of times - no one seems to have tried it? Old school dual sticks (analog) is pretty good On the options Check the Disable Strafe Now the left stick will act ONLY as forward and back, and the right stick controls right left up and down. To move right - Forward on left and Right on right stick. I have my sensitivity on movement just below center, and others on center. Pretty precise. Sometimes have to tap. Not great, but a suitable workaround if you want to use the analog. I have never been a big strafe fan, but I know a lot of folks are. I am certainly not running into walls the way Arn is in the video.
I think this may the best way to play this game for now. It seems to be working better than anything else for me.
I think it's the original. I've already run into a poster of the XXX movie "Sister Act" with two underwear clad girls on it.
I didnt really want this that much but seeing as its only $3, Im really debating. Guys, is this worth it? I liked Prey, but it was too short. Is Duke Nukem long enough? Cause Im tired of waiting for LiveFire and Modern Combat is just too cool to think about. Also im a fan of hard action FPSs. No walking around and doing nothing bullshit so is this any good?
in the first level you can press a button where the acsess card is and a movie starts with a girl with little clothes in the cinema area
Has 3 episodes. Read the thread - signficnat control issues - I am finding that controls are OK using method I describe above, but many people are having a lot of trouble. I am playing on easy - controls are not good enough to play at higher levels. For me worth it - for many controls are too off to spend the bucks..
On the front page so everyone will know about the control issues http://toucharcade.com/2009/08/10/duke-nukem-3d-hits-app-store-with-control-issues/ Just checked iTunes 9 out of 12 ratings are 4-5 stars.
