Maybe 20-25 minutes? So if you're not interested at all in building a high score then you may want to think twice, although I personally can replay these stages over and over and over again because they're so well done and fun.
Yeah they don't take long at all to beat, but I could play them over and over and not get tired. Especially when you get into trying to reach a high score, or collect the hidden bees (I still haven't made it to the 2nd loop). I was wondering what the "?????" was in the leaderboards, and why there were so few people listed in it. So you just play the practice mode? At first, I thought it was for the unlockable character (also the final boss of the 2nd loop).
These are the conditions for the Hidden Loop: Well ????? is the scoreboard for Hibachi (Unlockable) For iPhone Mode. To Unlock Hibachi, you need to get to the Hidden Second Loop in iPhone mode and kill Hibachi ( unlimited continues will do once you get into the second loop~ Its impossible otherwise atleast for me! )on Normal or Hard difficulty ONLY. It doesn't work for Novice!
Thanks for the clarification Coldcoffee. I would love to eventually unlock Hibachi, but I'm having a hard time finding all of the bees. Is there a map or something? I've looked around a little online, and haven't really found anything.
I looked up here:http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Knight/1496/hatiura.html&prev=_t&twu=1 for the bee locations. To unlock Hibachi, i first learned all the locations in the practice mode and then practiced to one CC the game~ and then combined them together. It might take awhile. Good luck After playing this alot, collecting bees becomes an involuntary action and you'll easily reach the second loop!
Thanks for the info everyone. Man, those screenshots from the 2nd loop are friggin' ridiculous. It's truly remarkable how much depth Cave has added to their games.
http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Various/DoDonPachi+Resurrection/ip_news.asp?c=26497 Is this some kinda joke?
Yeah, +1. I've been a Cave fan since Esp2, but adding GC support to games that could easily have just gone on the backburner puts them even higher in my book.
The updates are out (sort of). I hate how janky iTunes is. It tells me that I have 3 updates, but then only shows one (Espgaluda II). In the App Store, though, DDPR shows as having GC support, though.
Help Why does the game only let me use Openfeint? How do I use GameCenter? I am using an iPod 4th gen, ios 4.2.1
I'm just PRAYING that Ketsui will be their first new release this year. Death Label on the DS was too much of a tease. I Need the full game on the go!
Amen to that. However, after their poll, probably Mushihimesama Futari will be their next. After that, who knows? BTW what's the point in MF guys? Seen some videos but couldn't find out. Any of you know the game?
Same as every other Cave shooter...kill everything and try to score with the system in mind. I have it on Xbox 360, the "platinum" budget release is region free and cheap ($35 on Play-Asia). The movement is interesting and varies by character and shot type, but movement balance gets thrown out in the iPhone ports. I've read about the scoring system but it's just confusing as hell to me, something about the nth digit of some meter is odd or even or above/below 5 (and indicated by a color) changes how things work. I just play for survival for now. It has Original, Maniac, and Ultra modes, the bullet patterns and scoring varies in each, so it's not just a plain "more bullets" difficulty thing (although it works that way too), the scoring changes require some different strategies iirc.
Alright, thanks. It sounds complicated, indeed. I think I'll figure it out when it's announced (if they port THIS to iPhone), it's half the fun. Hell, I haven't even get to the 2nd loop in Dodonpachi, so the wait won't be so hard.
Here's a thing. DDP is my favourite iPhone game, hands down. There's only one thing that bothers me, the lack of leaderboards per level. So I've decided to note down my best results, so here they are. Anyone fancy a private competition? ^^ 573m lvl 1 novice c power hidden 568m lvl 1 norm a power hidden 626m lvl 1 norm c power hidden 681m lvl 1 norm c bomb hidden 485m lvl 1 hard c bomb 643m lvl 1 hard c bomb hidden 587m lvl 1 hard c power hidden 434m lvl 2 novice a power hidden 716m lvl 2 novice a bomb hidden 678m lvl 2 novice c bomb hidden 694m lvl 2 novice c power hidden 742m lvl 2 norm c power hidden 978m lvl 2 norm a power 1337m lvl 3 novice a power hidden 1358m lvl 3 novice c power hidden 1041m lvl 3 novice c bomb hidden 1911m lvl 3 novice c power 2689m lvl 4 novice a power hidden 4324m lvl 4 novice c power hidden 2820m lvl 5 novice c bomb hidden 2466m lvl 5 novice a power 2468m lvl 5 novice c power Btw I'm working on my 5th level score at the moment with ship c, power, no hidden route.
Boy, I have no idea what my scores have been per level, but you're welcome to add me on OpenFeint or Game Center if you want to compare scores by mode.
