Wow, those 40 seconds of video are like an inkblot test -- people are seeing whatever their preconceptions tell them to see. Obviously we don't know enough about the game to support any of those hysterical adjectives you use -- then again, lack of facts have never given you pause in the past :: The idea of putting together a "greatest hits" version of the story is not inherently a bad one -- it could in fact lead to a game that plays better on a handheld than a full port. Unfortunately, Capcom has shown an inability to properly discern what the greatest hits of their own games are (without story and puzzles, RE4 is just a snail-paced shooter). With the tiny bit of content on display, I see reason for cautious optimism. But I regretted getting RE4 and skipped Dead Rising, so I'll be holding out for reviews on this one. Just not Omega-F's "review.". . BTW 3-6 hours battery life on the 3DS? $70 games? I guess I'll be holding on to my DSi I bit longer than expected...
Played DMC4 on my PC a few weeks ago. I finished it but it wasn't mentionable good. To be more specific: it was the worst DMC in the series. Uninspired. Recycled ideas all the time. Even the boss fights were lame. I expected a lot more. Nothing beats DMC 3.
Really? DMC 3? Jeez that was almost as bad as 2. The first was by far the best. Hopefully you've played it.
As if you need more than a couple seconds to realize that this looks like another poor job at bringing a "console experience" from Capcom. As if I was going to purchase this and waste money and time reviewing it. LOL, greatest off-topic ever? And, uhhhh, $70 for a game? From who's ass did you pull that up? I'd gladly pay up to $45 - $50 for a 3DS game, if that means I'm going to have a true top notch gaming experience like with Street Fighter 4 for example. Quality >>>>>>>>>>>>> Quantity Finally, ironic, because the DSi has pretty much the exact same battery life as the 3DS
Yeah, I was being a punk with the 3DS comment -- couldn't resist. I'll try to find the link on the $70 games -- I think it's from Kotaku. My ass is definitely not a suspect. I put "review" on quotation marks precisely because you will not buy the game but still presume to have a definitive opinion about it (based on 40 seconds of footage, natch). Definitely not one of your more endearing features . I forgive you, though, since you got me started on the Shin Megami Tensei series.
Games are not going to be $70. C'mon son. Great thing you got into Shin Megami Tensei my dude. Incredible RPG franchise.
I love the dmc series so I'll have to buy it regardless of if it sucks or not. I know Capcom won't learn their lesson if people buy whatever they put out (no matter the quality), but with Devil May Cry I'll take what I can get. I'm just surprised they didn't start with one of the first three games, since they're on the PS2 and have lower polycount than trying to recreate the much more detailed 360/ps3 game. It seems like, for instance, they could use the assets from Devil May Cry 1 (with some possibly reduced graphics quality) similar to what Gameloft did with Prince of Persia. Now just sit back and wait for Gameloft's "Demon Might Weep"
Actually the yen price converted to $73 -- obviously that does not mean that it will be that much in the US. And trust me: the DSi gives me about 10 hours before a recharge. BTW cool it with the son thing -- I'm old enough to have owned an Atari 2600 before they were called that. I prefer "bro."
square enix games launch near $100 in japan. Been like that forever. I do love how the animations in this game is pretty much exactly the same as the console release. Still iffy at how it will control. Might need to get that ghetto $20 joystick thingy =P

Sweet, I love Devil May Cry. Combat looks fairly well-recreated. This looks like a much better effort than Dead Rising Mobile, to say the least.
"The graphics looked terrific, enhanced for Retina Display and closely resembling the console game." http://toucharcade.com/2011/01/11/hands-on-with-devil-may-cry-4-refrain/
