SlidetoPlay Preview STP preview : http://www.slidetoplay.com/story/dead-rising-mobile-hands-on-preview? What didn't make the cut: Boss fights, escorting survivors, combining weapons, taking photos, driving vehicles, and dressing up in goofy costumes are all out (though costumes could be added in a later update). What's left is a miniature shopping mall with benches, trash cans, and other everyday items that you, as photojournalist Frank West, can use to take out the shambling undead. You can also fight with your fists, plus the occasional firearms. How the game will play: Missions will be based around killing zombies in a particular section with a time limit or required kill count-- it doesn't appear that this will be a story-heavy adventure. You can still level up, though, and there's an interesting twist when you die in the game. When you succumb to zombies, you can post a rescue request automatically through Facebook or Twitter. This will give your friends a special code, which, when they enter it in their app, will reveal to them the location you died. If they find you, you can revive without a penalty via another Twitter or Facebook code.
I think the only disappointment for me is the lack of boss fights. Survivors, I could live without, but some of the bosses like Adam and Cliff will be missed in the iPhone version. Ah well, I'm just glad to have free-roaming zombie killing on my iPod.
Damn, this game doesnt deserve to be called Dead Rising. They took out what made this a special zombie game.
I thought it was really an April Fool's joke. Guess the real April Fools are the ones that thought it was a joke. Looking awesome
It was an April fools (if you read the other thread). It's just a coincidence that IPadboy dug out an old April fools for DR2 and a week later DR1 is announced.

So glad this is coming out. I never got to play it on console as inhavent got a 360. After reading about the game years ago, I contemplated getting a 360 just for this! I like the idea of using anything lying around as a weapon.
In my opinion this game is crying out for game center integration. Leaderboards for no. kills, deaths, rescue calls, level etc Achievements for things like "killing 25 zombies using [insert odd weapon here]", as well as long term goals like kill "1000 total zombies". Rescue call - tweak it to use your friends list and push notifications. GC knows which friends have the game and you could select from them to send the rescue call to. The push notification should be able to take the receiver directly into the game, rather than having to manually start it and enter some stupid code. Make it easy and people might use it, make it fiddly and they won't.
We were joking about Dead Rising 2 which was just an April fools. It's just a coincidence that Capcom announced Dead Rising Mobile soon after that thread was made (maybe it jogged their memory ).
Not sure why people think "this can't be real". After seeing the Unreal Engine 3 running smoothly on the iDevices just about anything is possible. Add to that only having 5-6 zombies on screen at once, taking out most of the story mode (only killing zombies within a given time limit,) making the mall a fraction of the size, taking out bosses and survivors - and you have a game that seems very within the iDevices reaches. They really curbed this game to force it onto the iDevices, I'm just wondering how it can be a real DR game if you aren't forced to rescue survivors. What has been announced makes it seem more like a DR themed arena game.
Honestly, I would recommend a 360 this game alone. It's one of the most fun and original games I've played in a long time, especially these days where literally every big game is a shooter of some sort.
QFT!!! Dead Rising is a fantastic series and this game does not look to do it justice in it's current state. I would HIGHLY recommend checking it out on the 30 before making judgments based on what you see here.
