Yes, it may look like it utilizes a slingshot based mechanic, but consider it more like flicking by use of a virtual joystick and not by pulling back Angry Birds-style. My only issue after about 10 mins of play is that it’s missing auto screen rotation. EDIT: By “auto screen rotation” I actually mean ANY screen rotation. Just to clarify, the game runs only with the home button on the left. We want premium priced games dont we ? Know its a different dev, but their publisher, Raw Fury, should have caught that. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #9 metalcasket, Feb 5, 2018 Well, it's the EXACT same game as on PC, Switch and consoles (yes, I know...the Switch technically IS a console) releasing on the exact same date, for the very same price. Yes, it's unusually expensive for a mobile game, but one has to commend Raw Fury for basically saying they consider mobile an equal to all other platforms. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #10 psj3809, Feb 5, 2018 So the gameplay. You move the joystick. Do you press fire or does it move or jump automatically ? So its pretty good ? anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #11 anthony78, Feb 5, 2018 Also curious about the controls. Ive seen some video where theyre moving really fast and wondering how you do that if youre sling shotting from one wall to another each time. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #12 metalcasket, Feb 5, 2018 Last edited: Feb 5, 2018 Consider it a dual stick....ermmm....metroidvania? The right stick is used to basically flick yourself around while the left stick is the equivalent of a dual stick shooter's aiming stick, where you drag your thumb to where you want to aim, hold to charge and blast in that direction. Believe me, if the controls are your only concern, don't be worried about them...they feel intuitive, natural and take literally seconds to come to terms with if you've played any dual stick shooters in your life. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #13 metalcasket, Feb 5, 2018 There's an intuitive sort of...ugh, I don't know how to explain it...stickiness (?) to the controls where just basically flicking your movement stick in the direction you want to head will result in you basically going EXACTLY where intended. You don't have to be 200% accurate and take your time. metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #14 metalcasket, Feb 5, 2018 Last edited: Feb 5, 2018 Christ, I think I need to make it abundantly clear that while the movement resembles "slingshotting", there's no gameplay of that sort. My post above perhaps makes that a little bit clearer? Flicking... think of flicking rather than using a slingshot. EDIT: Gone back and edited any mention of "slingshot" in my previous posts with the more appropriate "flicking". anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 704 113 #15 anthony78, Feb 5, 2018 LOL. Ive always felt a platformer would be described as moving from point a to point b while using various platforms to get there, levels including obstacles like enemies, spikes, flying lasers, etc. and thats this game. Just because you dont actually have a left, right , up, down, running back and forth and jumping doesnt make it less a platformer. Just as that other poster above said. The right stick you aim a laser sight to these white spots on walls and various moving or still platforms and let go your guys jumps to that spot, the left stick you use to aim/charge your weapon and let go to shoot. Its by far slow. This game gets intense. I mean youre shooting with one hand and aiming/jumping around dodging crap. I was in one room it was straight up between the bottom and the top doors were a series of wheels turning in different directions and speeds then on each side of the level were many floors of enemies with staves shooting red balls at you and you gotta get to the top door. Great fun. Get it. Lol btw I was skeptical too but I sprung anyways while waiting for ff15e (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
