@stevejarman ***spoilers*** The 8d puzzle 'opposites opposite' When you are facing the outside walls of the lever room, the switches need to be down, up on each side of the room. I'm pretty sure I originally had the levers on each side set to up, down and the puzzle did not solve. I assume the 'opposites opposite' hint refers to requiring the levers that are across the room from each other to be reversed. My previous post was simply concern that someone could technically solve the puzzle with a setting of 'up, down' then not have the puzzle unlock and assume they were working in the wrong direction. ---- Why don't you simply make the gold key resting rooms a no teleport zone? With only one save game people can get into situations that require restarting.
Ouch, reviews are in and Pocket Tactics gives this 1 star out of 5; the critisism was absolutely brutal.
Plenty of good reviews too (examples below). Every opinion is valid - good or bad. http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Coldfire+Keep/review.asp?c=57541 http://www.gamezebo.com/games/coldfire-keep/review http://toucharcade.com/2014/02/21/coldfire-keep-review/
Yep - that's definitely an option. The gold key rooms are all non-essential though, so it shouldn't ever be necessary to restart the game if you happen to lock yourself out of one
Thanks for the help with the quick puzzle. I have now gone through to level 6 (and have access to 7). I did not find the 4th colour wheel for level 5 (is there one?). In level 6 I have found two colour wheels for the blue door so far and a few locked off areas. I guess one must go to level 7 to continue. I thought I would be smart and buy a second fishing rod so I can enjoy more raw fish (yum). I was told that I already had one so I didn't need another but the shop lady took my 75 pieces of gold!! I had to reload to get my gold back
Those aren't exactly rave reviews and the trouble is that I should want Coldfire Keep since blobers are one of my favorite genres. I'm just not willing to give poor design a pass because it's on iOS and this game is rife with bugs, just this forum can attest to that. I'll wait to look into this until there have been a few serious patches and a massive price drop. This just presents like a rushed product and a missed opportunity in my eyes.
Good news! v1.1 should be out now on the App Store (or very soon). The most important new feature in v1.1 is an extra option in the Game Status screen for "One-Tap Pickup". This should fix things up for anyone having the double-tap issue. I'm submitting v1.2 to Apple tonight. It contains fixes for most of the smaller bugs that people have been pointing out here, or sending to me through my site. In v1.2, double-tap has also been removed completely, making the one-tap pickup the default and only option.
The only thing that I got when I double tapped to get a wish for 5gp, was 2 fishes instead of 1. If I didn't catch any thing then I just wasted my 5gp. Maybe you can get something better but I don't want to waste my gold.
"Making a wish" just doubles your chance of catching something. It doesn't necessarily get you the treasure (if one exists in the pool).
Hi Steve, I have the game and been waiting for bug fixes before diving in the deep end and really getting to grips with the game, could you please be more specific about what is in the 1.2 update? Thanks, Gaz
v1.2 Changes: * Completely removed double-tap. * If you attempt to buy a second fishing tackle, Iona will no longer take your gold. * Location 4 pull chain will no longer freak out the floor shafts. * Added down-arrow markers to equip lists for people who didn't realise they're drop-down lists. * Arrows, gold, and fishing rank now reset properly between saves. * Tweaked button delays to make them more responsive. * Tweaked the damage that Caster "Sparks" spell does. * Further padded the touch controls to try and squash the weird crashes some people have when pinching.
Thanks Steve That's what I call a nice swift detailed reply Does this cover most of the reported problems? Are you about too or are you now working on a 1.3 patch? I simply want to play with the best possible experience and I'm prepared to hold fire until then Thanks again Gaz
Sorry if this is a daft question, but how do I resurrect dead party members? And... What sort of starting stats should I be aiming for? Planning on a warrior, rogue and 2 shaman party, sorry, not very good at these things
No worries. Between 1.1 and 1.2 (submitted last night), that's pretty much everything that's been brought to my attention so far. Anything I've missed, or anything new that comes along will go into 1.3 along with a couple of other things that I've decided to possibly tweak. Party members can be resurrected using any of the altars, or via a Shaman spell later in the game. If you're unsure about stats, you can just select the classes you want and then start the game. If you haven't spent any stat points, the game will automatically "optimise" the party for you. In general though, primary stats are: Warrior = Brawn Rogue = Agility Shaman = Vitality Caster = Intellect

Target in 9a I have gotten as far as level 10. Level 11 requires a key that I don't have. I am going back up levels to try and open doors that I couldn't open before. In Level 9A there is a corridor that is blocked by some pits. Across the pit is a target. I have shot the target a number of times and get bullseyes. Does hitting the target's bullseye a number of times rise the floor so one can cross or does it do something else (this is the second target I have come across) or does it just give experience? I am trying to open the yellow door in level 9, I have to find all the colour wheel switches. I have opened the level 10 blue door. how do I raise the floor where the target is in level 9A is if its not the target that does this?
Thanks I thought one had to one the red teleport thingy to use the conduit rod. I now know one can teleport at anytime.
Unconscious players can starve. You can also feed them. Not sure if this is a bug or not but it just struck me as weird. Originally I thought they were dead since resting didn't heal them.
I usually consider those characters to simply be "unfit for combat". They can talk, eat, etc - but they're slumped in a corner when a fight is happening, and their wounds are grievous enough that sleep alone isn't going to help. I realize I should be more careful throwing around terms like "resurrect" though. I'll be more specific in future games... PS: I like that you raised that. It's something that's been worrying me too.
