You need to defend and protect your stations or circles. At the bottom of the screen is your choice of actions to use which may include a shield, pause, weapons... The circles or stations on the right side of the screen will send out the same type of destructive items to you along lines that connect your side to the enemies side. It took a minute or so for me to get the hang of it. Just getting in there and playing will teach you everything you need to know. The controls are just easy tapping. Choose the action you want and the circle or station you want it too come from. You have to choose and tap quickly because the enemy isn't going to wait for you. (Smile) I guess you could say that it is a unique version of a tower defense game. The difficulty is deciding which action to take against the enemies action and which line to do it on. The faster you get to thier bases the sooner you win. Battle dots is a unique and fast thinking defense game with a bit of a puzzler mixed in. Fantastic game for getting your mind off of things. The music is awesome. Clean and colorful art. Simple and easy to understand UI. It uses very simple mechanics but design in a brilliant way. You can call it RTS in Tower Defense style. You protect your lane just like what you normally do in Tower Defense games. You have multiple type of units (those battle dots) that does different thing. Defensive, offensive, fast moving, crowd control and much more. Besides doing different things for each unit, they also have different energy cost to summon them. You gain your resource by defeating enemy's unit. So where is the RTS element? There are multiple lanes you need to protect as well as invade. Every unit that manage to enter your opponent's base will reduce their hp which is the same thing for you if you fail to defend properly. Everything is happening in real time and so you have to have quick brain in reacting to situation while managing your resource. And you are constantly managing your units by summoning them to each lane unlike usual TD games. .Running out of resource with an open lane basically expose you to danger in losing your game. So you need to be smart in how you spend your resource on what unit and where they go. The game can get really hectic over time so be prepared for that And did I not mention there is a multiplayer via Game Center as well s local multiplayer battle. How much more awesome can it get? Highly recommended if you like RTS as well as TD game. It won't disappoint you.
