Took minutes upon launch to get into the tutorial, and once I started a single player game it wouldnt load away from the King. Hopped back into the tutorial and could barely move a few spaces. Decided to exit the app for the night. I did some browsing of the game. Ive been a fan of Armello since launch on the PC many years ago. At the time I was waiting for the iOS release and decided to bite the bullet for PC and then double dip on mobile. Of course, that took a lot longer than expected, and now here we are years later with the game (sorta) on my iPhone, tiny screen and all. I have about 90 hours sunk into PC and Im not sure how to feel about the F2P mechanic of this version. I dislike F2P a lot, it drove me away from Hearthstone after years of casual dabbling. I much prefer a base price with DLC then this subscriptionespecially since I already own everything on Steam. I guess its just a workaround to hook this crowd. I do like, in a sense, that I already know my favorite hero, and thus I can just spend $5 to grab him and call it a day. I know where my enjoyment lies in this game. For some reason it just feels weird to see a fully-priced game go F2P with the tacky gems, chests, and questing system. I hope it works out though. Armello is a good game with a lot of potential to grow. Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #3 Talbs, Mar 15, 2018 Well you're doing better than me. iPhone 6+ iOS 9.3.3. It just crashes on startup for me. It even caused a reboot of my phone. I had early access and it's been like this since then. They actually raised the iOS requirement in a previous update to like iOS 10 and phone requirement to iPhone 6s or 7. I actually think it's a mistake they've allowed it for iPhone 6 and iOS 9 this update. strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #4 strivemind, Mar 15, 2018 Subscription based? Can't you just buy the game and all premium content outright on Steam? Premium apps must not be worth it anymore. I own the full game on PS4 so I doubt Ill be subscribing anytime soon. Its not a bad game. Looks a bit rough on the 6s though. Everything is so low res even on my 12.9" iPad Pro. The hardware can handle it, it's too bad they're not going that route. xDiamond Member Oct 12, 2015 18 0 0 #11 xDiamond, Mar 16, 2018 Still trying to play this. Its impossible on the iPhone 6. I dont know why LoG tried to put the game on this phone, its so poorly optimized. Game freezes constantly on the tutorial, can barely move Thane more than a space. Its just so not fun to bother with, I can already see the 1 star reviews pouring in. killercow Well-Known Member Apr 8, 2009 3,784 3 38 https://twitter.com/killercow #12 killercow, Mar 16, 2018 Yeah, that's my problem with it too on iPad. It looks really blurry and low res, such a shame. dalbertson Well-Known Member Jan 25, 2011 485 2 18 #13 dalbertson, Mar 16, 2018 They need to combine this thread with the soft launch thread as both are being commented in. I've been in the beta for awhile and think it plays great! I don't have any issues with lag or graphics - playing on an iphone 8 plus with latest ios so I'm sure mileage will vary for others. Hopefully they get all the kinks worked out as its a premium experience for any digital board game lovers out there. It's a battery killer! Also, oddly, the graphics don’t look low-rez on my iPhone X... I will check again. Roger the Alien Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2017 183 29 28 Germany #15 Roger the Alien, Mar 22, 2018 I also downloaded it for free and did not buy any IAP. The graphics are nice on my iPad Air 2, if I zoom out it becomes blurry but its okay. No crash so far and everything can be unlocked within the game as you progress.
