I could not find any video and the links for support and devs site listed at app store do not exist. No video, no support equals no buy. ThatRevChap Well-Known Member Jul 15, 2009 375 0 0 http://www.inverty.com #4 ThatRevChap, Mar 16, 2010 I've TOFTTed. Given it a good 45 minutes of play or so, sat at my desk and in the waiting room at the dentist. It's really rather good, actually, and well worth the launch price based on what I've played. The controls work well. You follow the arrow through the levels to get to a waypoint, trying to avoid being munched on by endlessly-respawning zombies on the way. The levels are very dark, so you need to need use your torch to light them up - your character automatically fires at any zombies within the torch light. All the way it's raining and there's lightning, which lights up the level for a second and can show you a lot of zombies you hadn't noticed. It all works and it's very atmospheric. Hard too, after the first couple of levels. I'm on the third level now and gradually getting better as I explore the place and find my around. There's the odd rough edge - shadows are boxes and I glitched through a door once - but they don't take away from the fact that this is a very impressive game. Don't seem to be too many levels, but it looks like the last one is a Survival mode, which is nice - and there's OpenFeint high scores. Given the cheap price, I reckon it's well worth a look. TouchChatterbox Well-Known Member May 21, 2009 593 0 0 #5 TouchChatterbox, Mar 16, 2010 DevilishlyGood, are you the dev? If so, it's wrongly categorised - at least, in the Australian App Store. It's under 'Books'. Just so you know. That as well as the fact it's bought & downloading now for me. After thirty minutes or so with the game, I'm in full agreement with ThatRevChap's impressions: this is a pretty impressive game, particularly for the current price. The environment and character animation remind me of GTA: Chinatown though not as detailed. The lighting effects are very nice, the controls are responsive and well implemented, gameplay is simple but challenging (particularly after the second level). Open Feint integration, well designed menus, and autosave add that extra level of polish. The only concern is that the story mode is likely short, though as ThatRevChap pointed out, completing it seems to unlock a survival mode. Definitely worth checking out at the sale price. BazookaTime Well-Known Member Sep 30, 2009 5,340 1 36 Kansas http://www.paulmcraelind.com #8 BazookaTime, Mar 16, 2010 I have to agree, this is a pretty fun game at a great price. Slothy Well-Known Member Jan 8, 2010 169 0 0 #9 Slothy, Mar 16, 2010 I just downloaded, and I like it. I saw the screen shots, and I'm always a sucker for 3D games, and I like dual stick shooters, yet none seem to keep my interest long, so I'm always lookig for the perfect one. The game is darker that what is shown in the screen shots. I like how the levels have a structure to them as you have an objective (although the paths are linear), itstead of most other dual stick shooters where your points are based on kills and you are placed in an open sandbox. With Aftermath, none of your kills are counted toward your final score, instead it is your accuracy, remaining health, and time (though I'm sure kills count with the survival mode). Those reasons alone make Aftermath different from other dual stick shooters on the app store. Sorry about the somewhat chaotic launch - I submitted Aftermath at the last minute before leaving the UK for Malawi where I'm volunteering for a charity. I didn't have time to make a video before I left and as you can imagine internet access here is not brilliant so getting a video up is proving problematic! Hopefully I'll have something up within the week but for the time-being I guess you'll have to rely on reports from the TA crowd! Give it a try! Overall there are 8 "story mode" levels that each take place in one big city where you navigate section by section trying to make it out alive against multiple types of attacking zombies. Now this is a dual stick top down shooter but there is no actual shooting involved on the players part. Instead you carry a flashlight that when shined on zombies your character will open fire automatically. The system works perfectly as it targets the closest zombie in the flashlights range but you as the player are more accurate if you stand still, rather than running around trying to dodge enemies that could come at you from any direction. Every corner that you turn in the game will feel unique as the game is very well polished. The random lighting effects that light up the area revealing your surroundings for a split second are some of the best I ever seen from the app store! Sound effects are spot from the zombies to the weapons themselves being fired or the constant rain overall the sound effects really keep the mood of the game high. The graphics are average and I feel as if they could have been a little bit better in some areas. Another minor annoyance is the lack of an actual story in the game. I am still to this moment wondering what the hell happened, as you start the game off in an alley way with a flash light. The only text that goes up in the game is the level name and objectives for what to do next. There are enough zombie types and weapons scattered around to keep the player coming back for more after story mode is over to play in the Survivor Mode. I have yet to play it but it is the final mission in the game and I assume it is just like any other zombie survivor mode out there. With Open Feint leaderboards in the game there is more than enough replay value. Overall this is my new personal favorite dual stick top down shooter on the app store. Honestly this game seems like it should be priced higher, get it while it is on sale! 5/5 stars! - And to the DEV, please add on some extra levels in updates everything is perfect, a new city to explore would be awesome. yosoypepito Well-Known Member Feb 12, 2010 204 0 0 I´m a penguin on crack On the Moon #15 yosoypepito, Mar 16, 2010 gameplay video i made zztfox Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2008 812 0 0 #16 zztfox, Mar 16, 2010 Bought now that the dev is part of this thread! sleb Well-Known Member Feb 7, 2010 385 3 18 Ohio #17 sleb, Mar 16, 2010 Last edited: Mar 17, 2010 Now that the Dev is here i think I will buy too.
