Follow the tale of young Derby Pocket, a Business Demon Intern, who discovers the dark secrets of the OMNIGEM! Don't let the cute art fool you: this is a deep, complex tactics game that'll provide a wicked challenge for years to come! From the designer of 100 Rogues and Auro: A Monster Bumping Adventure! Gem Wizards Tactics is a turn-based strategy game with randomly generated maps and complex asymmetrical factions! Designed around endless single player play, Gem Wizards Tactics has three factions each with their own unique abilities which not only combine within factions, but you can also pick up units from other factions and combine them into your army to create totally unheard of new strategies! In many ways, Gem Wizards Tactics will feel familiar to fans of Advance Wars, Fire Emblem or X-Com. But unlike these games, the maps are randomly generated, and enemy units are spawning randomly as well. This means that the challenges are much less puzzle like, and a lot more emergent and surprising—so your strategies will have to be as well. In this original turn based tactical war game, you take your army through a series of battles in which you’ve gotta capture the flags before taking too many losses! Take tight, puzzle-like tactics in the vein of Into the Breach and 868-HACK, add a big Fire Emblem-style overall package, and wrap the whole thing up in a nintendolicious candyflake aesthetic, and you have the new @keithburgun game, and it's great. - Frank Lantz, Director of the NYU Game Center Gem Wizards Tactics is a whimsical and approachable turn-based tactical game, much like Into the Breach; 3 asymmetric factions, procedurally-generated maps and enemies, excellent synergies. Super fun.” - Designer Plays on Steam For the most part, every unit is extraordinary, which provides an excellent amount of depth when it comes to strategizing. - Turn Based Lovers FEATURES + No in-app purchases! We don't collect data or any of that weird stuff! + Wild powers with fun and surprising side-effects! Drill for oil, which is slippery and lights on fire! Spray water around until you create new rivers! Freeze those rivers over with ice magic! Push people over the frozen ice floe, sliding uncontrollably into that hole you drilled! It's like a wild Rube Goldberg Machine of tactics! + Randomly generated maps! The map geometry, enemy squads you're facing off, and Unit Rescue rewards are different every time you play! + Five distinct factions with LOTS of asymmetry: the classic royal high fantasy knights of the Azure Order; the resource-exploiting, terrain-burning Business Demons, or the nature and weather-controlling Potatoes: each have their own unique playstyles and abilities. Better yet, there's cross-pollination between the factions, so maybe you can find some neat combo for your Azure Knights sliding over a bunch of freshly fracked oil slicks! Or, choose the Neverending Party, a raucous group of high-energy, hard-rockin' Skeletons! + Over thirty unique unit types, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and unique special abilities! (More being added all the time in free DLC!) + FIVE game modes: Tutorial, Story Mode, Campaign Mode, Ranked Mode and Custom Games. + Colorful pixel art and an original melodic soundtrack. You may know me as the lead designer of 100 Rogues and Auro: A Monster-Bumping Adventure. I have a new game that has just come out moments ago on the app store: a turn-based tactical wargame called Gem Wizards Tactics! It's a turn based tactical wargame with randomly generated maps that's all about positioning, and Auro fans will love it because it's kind of like Auro the Wargame, in that it's got a whole lot of BUMPING (you can even bump enemies right off the map!) The game was originally launched on Steam back in February and it has gotten tons and tons of polish and extra features since then. Here's some bullet points! Five WILDLY different factions! The BUSINESS DEMONS, frack, pave, buy and burn everything in sight. The POTATOES roll, grow, and need a lot of water. The AZURE ORDER has knights big shields and ice powers! The NEVERENDING PARTY is a bunch of resurrecting, hard-rocking skeletons! And the latest faction is the ALCOVE PREFEX, which is a bunch of hackers and robots and stuff! Super original twist on turn based tactical wargames. This is a game where positioning is everything, and even when you're behind there's almost always some crazy move you can pull! Lots of game modes! Tutorial, Story Mode, Campaign Mode, Custom Mission mode and RANKED mode! Infinitely replayable with tons of difficulty settings Fun original pixel art and soundtrack! Enjoy! <3 anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #2 anthony78, Dec 22, 2021 Looks interesting but spent too much on games with sales this week. If you do a mistake on unit movement with the tactile, impossible to undo. Move map with 2 fingers isn't intuitive but you learn it after few game. When you open chest, impossible to read the description of the item inside. You need to equip it to a unit then click on the unit for see what effect that grant. Text are little small on iphone. But the gameplay is very good, i just start the campaign and i love it ! Auro is a game that we made on our own, and we released it in 2014 originally on Android, then on PC. It eventually got taken down because the libraries fell out of being supported (HaxeNME and Starling and stuff). So what did we do? We re-coded the game FROM SCRATCH in Unity. This new game is also made in Unity, which I expect to be supported for a really long time. We're also bringing it to switch soon. Pretty exciting! But yeah I do not leave my games languishing in unplayability --- 100 Rogues was just a really weird situation sadly. Who knows, maybe the Fusion guy will reach out to me someday and we can work something out. Nice to see you here (again)! Gem Wizards Tactics is amazing, a really smart evolution to the Auro formula. In addition to the suggestions listed in this thread, I have come across one big issue: Shutting down the app, crashing to springboard, multitasking with low memory, taking phone calls on older devices*, other device interruptions that purge the app from memory or quitting to title in the middle of a battle forfeits the entire campaign. I'll also add that while GWT is quite obviously designed as a single player game, I'd play async battles with friends like a person obsessed if you ever decide to add online multiplayer The inventive mechanics would make for some truly epic, absurd and hyper-engaging player-versus-player scenarios. * I had this happen on my iPhone 11 last night, so we don't need to go far back to have RAM issues with app retention.
