I've been looking for an alternative to NotFM since the devs / design choices left a bad taste in my mouth (probably won't be touching it again). This game definitely fits that hole NotFM left. Honestly, it could use some polishing but overall, it's the best you'll get to something like that. It also feels very light-weight / easy to pick up and play (yay for card games in portrait mode). One of the main gripes I have with it is the need for some battle music. I can't feel the battle hype. But it's still fun nonetheless. It'd be nice if it got QoL updates and more added cards / content down the road. The dev said he likes NotFM so I think he should try to make lots of content and new class combos and skills like that game did. TheSilveryWolf likes this. I played this for 5 hours yesterday and while really enjoying it, I can't recommend it. The last boss needs a huge nerf. It's not fun anymore. Even the last set up to the boss makes no sense. It gives you 3 options - minor enemy, Lich final boss, and sell off cards. Nothing for healing, no card upgrades, and an extra battle node that no one would ever touch because it'll just reduce your health for the final battle. Spent 2 hours with the last boss, resetting and trying different strategies. I had the ultimate deck that absolutely destroyed every previous boss, not even close. I barely took any damage the entire last half of the game. The final Lich boss is the cheapest card game boss I've ever seen. Let's go over just SOME of the cheap stuff he has - 150hp - 3 block every turn - 6 card hand, 6 card draw per turn - EVERY TURN DRAW A FREE CARD, GET 4 MANA, GET AN EXTRA ACTION - a bunch of heal cards - can discard your entire hand - reduce damage to 2 card - reduce damage to 0 card (Invincible) - reduce your attack damage to half (?) card - PERMANENT negate your first played card - another extra negate your first played card - Lots of direct high necro damage cards - poison spam - fills your deck with damaging junk cards constantly - you can draw damaging junk cards 5 times+ in a row that can deal 2-8 damage a piece, until your entire deck is mostly trash cards - boost all necro damage (pretty much his entire deck is necro) so you're taking heavy damage constantly - AND THE WORST OF ALL - A CARD THAT DOES HUGE NECRO DAMAGE TO YOU BY HOW MANY CARDS ARE IN BOTH DISCARD PILES. WTF. Seriously. This is going to be a long battle, obviously. That's cheap af. 20+ damage in one turn. So literally he gets stronger by the turn. If you use long card combos, you're adding more cards into your discard. I was winning before but nope, he plays this card and I'm left with 2 health. - CAN DO ALL THESE OVER AND OVER AGAIN WHEN HIS DECK RESETS I have no idea how to beat this. While you may run out of mana and health, he never will. Even if I get a combo set up, the ai conveniently discards my entire hand. I'm also confused how some of his cards have exhaust but then he keeps using them over and over. I don't see how this was balanced at all. The difficulty spike is ridiculous and not comparable to the previous bosses before him. I can't recommend the game at this state but if you did beat him then props to you. I don't think the average player could. It's almost as if he was designed so that he couldn't lose in the first place. He literally has 0 weaknesses and every possible advantage in the game. Slay the Spire gets this right and that's why it's so popular. I'll probably wait like you said until the dev get the balance in place, if they ever do. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #15 anthony78, May 3, 2019 Might want to post this on the dev’s Discord for the game. I do take feedback on board, so I will look around and ask as usual to improve the game. I've just released v1.48 which I suggest you grab that corrects a few minor and some not so minor issues.
