Bought most of these books previously as stsandalone apps. But having them all in this new app will be great. Restore purchases doesnt work so Ill oribabbly buy them again. Was hoping somehow the app would know Ive bought the standalone ones But looking forward to playing these classics again. Should be a great compilation Praymettin Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2012 95 0 6 #3 Praymettin, Mar 15, 2018 How can you all be so accepting all these shackles so readily? They ruined the Talisman app and now Tin Man does this. We have to buy them again? And you are OK with that? I bet they will remove all those standalone apps or cease updating them for new versions in the near future. Then we will "have" to buy them again, like all those "new version" atrocities piling in the appstore. This is the new strategy in gaming companies, refurbishing old games to charge again for the same old thing. You can see what I mean in all those "Enhanced","HD" or "Remastered"s. I suggest caution against these as a community, if we accept these easily, another wave of ruin waits us, like the F2P abomination. Westies New Member Apr 22, 2009 2 0 0 #4 Westies, Mar 15, 2018 Support They have stated on their Facebook page that theyll continue to support the new versions along with the old versions so that is something, even if its a disappointing choice that they didnt choose to roll over past purchases to the new app. Westies New Member Apr 22, 2009 2 0 0 #5 Westies, Mar 15, 2018 Also they did eventually get my Talisman purchases sorted out, although there was a lot of correspondence involved. May not be that involved now that theyve fixed it. There was also a toss in or two for people who paid previously. Helped settle me down after the initial anger over the switch to the free version psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #6 psj3809, Mar 15, 2018 I said above it was hypocritical of me 'slightly'. I've already got those fighting fantasy apps but the difference is they're quite 'old', whereas that Fighting Fantasy Classics isnt that old. If i had only bought the books recently i would be annoyed. I've just bought all the books in this new app, the file size is 240MB which is pretty good as i 'think' the other apps for each book were quite a size. Really like the fact also all these books are in one app, sounds like we'll get lots more books in the future so i'm looking forward to that. Tin Man said they'll also update the stand alone apps which is good (to be fair you dont know how long for) but i've deleted those now as i'm happy with this new app. I'm already nervous of a '128 bit' app-pocalypse sometime in the future ! Whats depressing is you realise you dont have much control over your purchases at all. Second a company goes under due to lack of sales then theres a huge chance you wont have the app anymore. In the old days you could back them up but its not so common now is it ? There is one called Night Dragon ? is that what you mean ? Sure that might appear at some point (but was gamebook #52 so might be a while !) MulDeR Well-Known Member May 22, 2017 98 5 8 #9 MulDeR, Mar 15, 2018 Downloaded this one yesterday. The app looks great. The only thing that i would add is more languages, but i assume that it's a lot of work. All of the books are $1.99USD for a limited time so grab them while you can. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #10 psj3809, Mar 15, 2018 Yeah as the news item by Eli says, as its one app it'll be much more easier for Tin Man to update it and fix issues etc. Seems like there'll be a lot more content added (One of my favourites - Freeway Fighter will be there in a few months). So far so good Darkfyra Well-Known Member Jan 14, 2017 157 6 18 #11 Darkfyra, Mar 15, 2018 The book I was mentionning was full of dragons and there was a powerful black dragon that was even fought as a skull,it was never part of any re release, digital version or anything it was completely forgotten for some reason. Also it was a fighting fantasy book just one lesser known. triwolf Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Sep 5, 2012 83 10 8 #12 triwolf, Mar 15, 2018 The settings are giving me a hard time on my iPhone X. For example, the font size can only be reduced, never increased, because the up arrow just isnt there. The app fills the whole iPhone X screen, but it really doesnt feel optimized for it... on the home screen the title of the app is partially hidden by the black thing (I dont remember what its called) at the top of the screen. StaggerLee509 Member Mar 22, 2017 7 1 3 #13 StaggerLee509, Mar 29, 2018 Updates not working? Hey everyone. I can't seem to get any of the books to update, the gear wheel just keeps spinning forever is I select his option and I have to close out the app. Additionally, I played Warlock once on the hard difficulty and died soon, then tried the adventurer normal difficulty and everything is so easy! I've won every fight with no damage. I prefer a bit of a challenge, would you advise against me continuing with the hard difficulty? Thanks! The game ask you to update, you get a menu with "Update now" or "Later" but clicking the buttons do nothing and the game is just stuck there. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,971 722 113 England #15 psj3809, Apr 3, 2018 If you find anything like this then send a message to the dev. Hopefully should fix it Threepwood Member Nov 15, 2014 14 0 0 #17 Threepwood, Apr 7, 2018 Nope, stil not working after patch. I would really love to see it work, but this clearly wasn't testet and the fact they put a "Please report bugs"-feature in such a simple App points to that i guess? (I mean this is basically a slightly more advanced PDF-viewer, not a huge, complex MMO. - I'll keep my fingers crossed they can make it work! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
