The devs were cool about having no embargo, so I streamed a full playthrough if anyone wants to see what it's like. (Keep in mind this was my third game already.) Each play-through is 12 weeks, which took me about an hour each time. There's some replay value in trying to get other endings, but my favorite part was just reading through the articles and seeing how I could change their meaning. Because that is what I want to start in the game redranch91 Well-Known Member Mar 3, 2014 202 0 0 #11 redranch91, Jan 21, 2016 It's now down to this and Crashlands for me. Can't buy both. What would you guys recommend? geoelectric Well-Known Member Apr 22, 2010 464 22 18 San Jose, CA #12 geoelectric, Jan 21, 2016 Last edited: Jan 21, 2016 I love Papers Please, Blackout, etc., and think this is a very well-crafted and attractive game. That's why I'm pretty surprised I haven't enjoyed the half hour I spent with it very much. I get the buttons I'm twiddling, kinda, but there isn't solid (or any, really) feedback in the game as to what effect each individual article has. The other review posted mentions this in depth, where you can't tell if you crafted something loyalist or rebellious, and I think that's spot on. Add in four of them affecting outcome as an interaction and it's nearly impossible to tune your behavior. Moreover, the effects themselves are pretty subtle, even in aggregate: a slider moves. I know that'll stack up into bigger stuff but right now I just don't feel like I'm part of the game, more just throwing things at it blindly. Papers Please works because there's immediate feedback on your actions. They may be gray but the results most definitely are not. This makes the results gray too, and it's just frustrating to me. My hope is that I'll find it opens up after more gameplay, but to be honest I'm not sure I'll stick with it that long. touchy85 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2015 1,616 1 38 #13 touchy85, Jan 21, 2016 Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Although I'm having a good time, the first playthrough took me 45 minutes. I'm now playing the game for a second time, due to the random events my second game is a bit different. But after I finish this playthrough I think I'm done, there's not enough replay value for me. There's a rebellion, and you can help it along or turn people against the rebels. But the effects of it are mostly seen in letters and the ending you get. Great length for those shorter play sessions, and holds some replay value as you take different censorship and discover the differences. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
