Baracus Well-Known Member Jun 19, 2009 1,023 0 36 UK http://www.hatenintendo.co.uk #3 Baracus, Dec 1, 2015 Just had a quick go and it seems very nicely put together. Get a lot here for free. Weird it uses a virtual currency (gold) to buy Expansions. 90 dollars to buy all of them in 1 hit. Don't think I can resist! Not sure if you earn any of the gold by playing campaign but I won the first level (on my first attempt muahaha) and didn't get any gold so seems not. Single Expansions are a lot cheaper but I'm gonna fill my boots with the whole shebang!! Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #4 Talbs, Dec 1, 2015 Simple question. Does this need full time internet connection? Is it "one of those" apps? Mythbuster Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2008 1,260 22 38 Journalist In the middle of nowhere #5 Mythbuster, Dec 1, 2015 Yep! Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #6 Talbs, Dec 1, 2015 Cheers. Won't be buying anything then. Will download when I can give a damn. E.g.: Buying everything costs 1115 Ducats. Best deal seems to buy 1200 Ducats for 89.99 Dollars - the second level of the tutorial campaign cant be accessed (throws an error "locked campaign level") - game crashed after finishing the first game of base - act 1 - ads will be shown from time to time; there seems no way to turn them off by IAP Baracus Well-Known Member Jun 19, 2009 1,023 0 36 UK http://www.hatenintendo.co.uk #10 Baracus, Dec 1, 2015 Really they remain after a purchase? Have you bought any gold/Ducats? zen_mode Well-Known Member Feb 8, 2015 366 0 16 Sydney #11 zen_mode, Dec 1, 2015 You really have to wonder why developers hate their customers so much on this platform, but I actually I already know the answer - they see anomalies like Game of War and Clash of Clans and they want to emulate that success. The thought of raking in millions of dollars a week through worthless in app currencies is just too tempting. Yet most will crash and burn anyway. I'm not sure if that's the case here, but it's a shame to see that this approach may have been taken for what was no doubt an important game. Missed opportunity if it turns out to be the case. I could play it but I won't bother for that fact alone. I mean, what if the* Zombie Apocalypse strikes and all the power goes down across the world? If I wanted to take a break from getting chased and bitten every once in a while by hiding in a back storeroom playing my favourite game, I couldn't cause I need a constant internet connection which would make the game useless. *Insert any scenario here that consists of no internet. Sad fact for what could've been a good game to play. I want to like it and I want to play it bu when I see shitty IAP in a game it's an instant no go for me. It's a matter of principle for me and no matter how much I like the content I can't do it. And I had been looking forward to this game. It's a shame greed is ruining what could be good games. It's up to us as consumers to reject it no matter what or we are the problem. I love paying for premium games and There's good reason why I will not download any FTP games no matter how much I like the subject matter. It's just a way to buy extra stuff if you want it. What's there for free (base game) is actually free. Only thing that bothers me is why would we need to have more gold than needed for all content but if you just look at the cost as 90 for all cards then I'm sure it's like a tenth of the cost of buying the physical game. (wild guess). Oh and concerned ads are not removed if you make a purchase which would be very crappy. Edit: are packs restorable or is the gold consumable? THIS could be the downer... Dailon80 Well-Known Member Nov 10, 2014 3,574 66 48 Program Director/Radio DJ Eos #16 Dailon80, Dec 1, 2015 You went on to explain why I'm not overreacting. This game is meant to deceive the player with its crappy IAP system. Ok how about this why can't I pay real money not a fake currency for the IAP then. Because it's a scam. If it was straight money for the IAP like I dunno most every game I wouldn't even be posting this. Problem is this isn't every other FTP game it's even worse. Wanted to like it but not going to be that freaking neive. It's my choice to make and I am not supporting bad practices toward customers wish others would follow suit but it's hopeless. Suckers are born every minute and this developer knows that phrase all to well. Somebody needs to shoot the App Store in the head so it can reset itself. When we get bastardized versions of games like this. I'd rather go out and but the physical game then play this torturous garbage Dailon80 Well-Known Member Nov 10, 2014 3,574 66 48 Program Director/Radio DJ Eos #18 Dailon80, Dec 1, 2015 Thanks for saying it like it needs to be said.
