The game has a endless mode and a mode with 40-ish levels, the level-mode is the real star of the game, for the level mode there is a life system and I burned through my first 5 lives in about 2 minutes max. In order to earn new lives you can buy them with real money or farm them in the endless mode, they don't refill over time. I think it took me about 10 minutes to farm 8 lifes and all this time I thought 'I don't want to play the endless mode, the levels are way more fun than this'. It's not like the endless mode is bad or anything, but playing it feels like a punishment. I checked back with my store, and this is the first game i won't buy the ads-free iap ($4) for once. I'm totally not digging the controls, and i played over half an hour. At least it shows me that real humans are working at Nitrome as well. rezn Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Mar 8, 2014 862 6 18 Male Coder/Keyer in medical ICD 10 Reno, NV #4 rezn, Nov 27, 2015 Always nice to see a new game from Nitrome. It's a tough one so be warned. NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #7 NOEN, Nov 29, 2015 I'm finally used to the controls. The game is decent enough, but it's the whole "extra lives" thing that is bugging me. It's so easy to burn through a bunch of lives on one level and not even pass it. Then it's off to endless mode for awhile to farm. I guess in a way your still playing the game and your not at a standstill waiting for a timer, but it does get a little frustrating when you almost have a level figured out and have to go farm more lives. I guess I'd rather have it this way that waiting for a timer. It's still a decent nitrome game and worth checking out. chief78 Well-Known Member Jul 24, 2012 2,317 7 38 #8 chief78, Dec 1, 2015 It's Nitrome....I can't not have this on my phone Takes a bit getting used to, but as with all their games, it's challenging and satisfying when you do figure it out. Park Pill Well-Known Member Oct 24, 2013 251 5 18 #9 Park Pill, Dec 2, 2015 Hi, do you think it would be better if lives would be charged over time? And how much time do you think it is appropriate to charge one? I am kind of making my own little game. And I enjoyed this game. So I was going to follow this monetization model. But it is not a good idea after all. touchy85 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2015 1,616 1 38 #10 touchy85, Dec 2, 2015 That would be a bit better. But my biggest issue with the game is that it locked me out off the main mode in no time. Or when I watched a 30 seconds videoad and I got 3 lifes, it took me 20 seconds to burn through them. When I play a free to play game, I want at least 10 minutes of gameplay till I can't play anymore. Park Pill Well-Known Member Oct 24, 2013 251 5 18 #11 Park Pill, Dec 2, 2015 That IS the problem. Only 20 secs of playing for 30 secs of punishment Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate it. And it really helped. Thanks a lot! smes3817 Well-Known Member Oct 15, 2009 1,122 10 38 Massachusetts, USA #12 smes3817, Dec 2, 2015 I'll go against the grain and say that this game is great! Super difficult but I'm having so much fun and have no issues with the monitization strategy. your personal robot Well-Known Member Nov 11, 2008 3,606 3 0 nonverbalist Berlin #13 your personal robot, Dec 2, 2015 Simply not getting a hang of the controls. Kudos for trying something unique. Presentation is perfect and 100% Nitrome style. But the game isn't for me. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
