Level 13 is the best I have reached so far and I am really enjoying it. I can't believe I only paid just over a dollar Canadian for this little gem. It reminds me of Hoplite , but I like this one better and you can play with a party of two players a little later into the game. Thanks gemineye62 Well-Known Member Feb 16, 2010 641 0 0 #3 gemineye62, Nov 16, 2015 I made it to level 17 of the tower where I believe the final battle played out. Even with three in my party, I got creamed. Next time, if I get the spear pickup and the one that returns all axes to the warriors, I may be able to take the Boss down. Great game! aconfusedkender Well-Known Member Sep 28, 2012 1,362 122 63 Oil & Gas Kendermore, Ansalon #4 aconfusedkender, Nov 16, 2015 Do you have to start over when you die? So let me get this straight: this is a roguelike similar to Hoplite only there's Vikings, loot, experience points a party instead of one guy and and.... am I missing anything? It doesn't bother me as much because I'm down for more Hoplite right now and it's nice to see the concept expanded upon. I've only been playing for a half hour so far. I'll post back to the thread more later as I get more into it. I'm looking forward to getting party members and encountering bosses. Edit: Couple of quick hits: 1) A button appears when you clear a floor that you can use to automatically leave the level instead of having to move your character to the stairs manually. 2) There is no swipe movement like there is in Hoplite. I think I miss this, now that I've played one of these games without it, especially since tapping the right hex on a smartphone with normal sized fingers appears to be occasionally challenging. gemineye62 Well-Known Member Feb 16, 2010 641 0 0 #7 gemineye62, Nov 16, 2015 Last edited: Nov 16, 2015 If you die you must start over. Honestly I don't mind as this game is so good I want to get back in there and give it another go. When you complete a tower level , you get to choose one of the following , heal yourself , upgrade the number of health hearts you have, upgrade the distance you can throw your axe or bash things with shield , upgrade how far you can jump over tiles , Increase how many things you can carry in inventory that all characters share and much more. Each character has different abilities. The second Viking can't jump but his shield bash will do an instant kill. He can also turn to stone to avoid taking damage that turn. The other character is super important in the latter part of the game but, I won't reveal the skills this character has so you can find out for yourself. You also open chests in the level and get lots of useful runes that give you the power to stun multiple enemies, take an extra turn, replenish one health heart, return your axe to your hand and many other things. And , for me, there is nothing I dislike about the game. Even the death animations are nicely done. I like the art and sound effects. I understand the developer is Russian , so the Engilsh in the game could be better, but it does not really detract from the game. Trust me , if you love turn based games, you will love this game! Despite the similar mechanics this game leans more towards Diablo or Final Fantasy for me, whereas Hoplite is more like a combination of chess/checkers and a tabletop adventure game. cenn Active Member Aug 14, 2015 39 0 0 #19 cenn, Nov 17, 2015 wow, those hexes look rather sexy. cant stop myself from buying eugenemcardle Well-Known Member May 21, 2013 357 9 18 Retired, Math/Science Teacher, Air Force Electron Redcliffe Queensland Australia #20 eugenemcardle, Nov 17, 2015 Great little game, well worth the outlay.
