This simple exclusion is a deal breaker for me. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,966 718 113 England #15 psj3809, Jun 4, 2015 I loved the iCade when it was popular but i wouldnt simply avoid a game if it wasnt icade compatible. Same for MFI games. The games are initally meant to be played on a touch screen, anything else is an added bonus. The obvious thing would be to buy the super cheap game to help the dev and then ask for MFI support, the more sales the devs have the more chances you'll get of updates etc ipad_dad Active Member May 6, 2015 34 0 0 #16 ipad_dad, Jun 4, 2015 It just feels like laziness to me, a bit of added code, a tweak in game play and you make alot more customers/players happy from the start. Invictus_Games Well-Known Member Patreon Indie Mar 2, 2012 229 0 16 Game development Hungary #19 Invictus_Games, Jun 4, 2015 It's not that easy at all. We have experience with MFI controller support. When we've developed Ridge Racer Slipstream it wasn't just a "bit of added code". If you want to make it right it takes serious resources and can affect other parts of the game too. Just think about the full GUI control, different control options with and without the controller, dealing with a tilted device with the controller...etc, just to name a few issues. NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #20 NOEN, Jun 4, 2015 Well said PSJ. I couldn't agree more. Lol, although I finally got the icade like a few months ago for super cheap and it's rarely supported anymore. I was totally against external controllers in the beginning. I felt that the whole reason I was playing these games was because they were mobile and I could fit everything in my pocket. I ended up picking up an MFI controller and as expected, I barely use it. It's nice as an added bonus. Playing Tomb Raider is a lot better with a controller, but it's definitely not a deal breaker for me at least. You see more devs add controler support on a game that's selling, than a game that's not selling because of lack of controller support. Just my 2 cents. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
