TouchArcade Rating: Free Buy Now Watch Media DetailsAdult Swim and PikPok, makers of Robot Unicorn Attack 2 and Giant Boulder of Death bring you their biggest game yet!• A new twist on Match-3 gameplay - Equip weapons, armor, and spells to personalize your strategy against foes. Match three or more runes to attack.• A huge journey - As part of the Adventure Xpress you'll travel to over 275 battle locations across a sprawling world map.• Heartwarming stories - If you’re risking your life as a courier man or woman to deliver these letters you should at least get to read them, right? Now, if that isn’t enough to sell you - here are some more details:THE BASICS (in case you’re unfamiliar)- Match runes to attack - three or more horizontally or vertically will charge up your weapon’s attack and strike when your turn is over.- Match four or more to make special runes that when matched will clear even MORE. - Chain reactions and combos will hit for more damage. THE TWISTS (bet you didn’t think of these!)At each location you’ll encounter multiple enemies. You keep the same rune board and spell power throughout, so as you match you can strategize your plan against later enemies or final boss characters of each location. Vanquish them all and receive the spoils of coins, potions or stamps to upgrade your weapons, armor, and spells.- Each weapon’s stats impact how much it will hit and the number of runes you need to match to activate a Critical in your next turn. - Some weapons will even regenerate health for matching certain rune types!- The rune’s elemental type determines its strength against the enemy.- Unlike other Match-3 games, each move doesn’t have to be a match so you can strategize combos (though each time you make a move with no match, your enemy gets a free attack on you).- Request boosts from friends or spend premium currency to tip the scales further in your favor.THE FEATURE LIST (download it already!)• Over 275 battle locations over a huge game map• Battle over 30 types of enemies• Play as a male or female courier• Equip 20 types of weapons and 10 types of armor, both with multiple quality and element enchantments• 5 elemental spells to learn, upgrade and unleash on your foes• Connect with friends to boost your stats and smite enemies• Game Center Achievements• How have you still not put this on your device?Follow Us: Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/adultswimgames ;Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/adultswimgames ;Our Website - http://www.games.adultswim.com ; Information Seller: Genre:Adventure, Puzzle Release:Oct 02, 2014 Updated:Nov 30, -0001 Version: Size:0.0 TouchArcade Rating: User Rating: (32) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #2 Exact-Psience, Oct 1, 2014 Im slowly losing trust in PikPok, but i still have full confidence in Adult Swim. So yeah, this will be downloaded. Been waiting for a new match-3 hybrid so this may be it. Darkin didnt really scratch the itch as it was pretty trying hard to be "that classic." L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #3 L.Lawliet, Oct 1, 2014 Wow AS and PP combined? Yeah PP hasn't been great lately but ... a good match 3 game is a good game for me. I'm going to give this a try since it's free obviously. I'm just hoping it's not an internet game. Then I will have lost faith in both companies. sink_or_swim Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2012 3,504 5 38 Germany #4 sink_or_swim, Oct 1, 2014 after playing the game for the last 20 minutes I can say that this is great. The gameplay is addictive. So far I can't see any timers but let's see how grindy it get's later. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #5 L.Lawliet, Oct 1, 2014 Okay, color me impressed. Game seems pretty massive. The map looks nice and huge and there's a buttload of items to get. SUPPOSEDLY, you can get all the items without using premium currency since they say "early unlock". The animations are great and the dialogue is hilarious. I do have a problem with the art.. at least on the iphone 6 everything lookes jagged and blurry. Seems like a big oversight from 2 of the biggest companies. And I kind of wished for multiple save slots but that's rarely in any game. I'll keep playing to see if it holds up. This might be a great long term release with no timers. I'm assuming the challenge will be when monster hit hard and you need better weapons / potions for battle. Sounds difficult but MUCH better than timers so I'm pleased with that choice. I actually was planning to use the girl character but then when she was in battle she looks so psychotic I decided not to. This game is pretty funny I have to say. I love the "sims-like" sounds the characters make. I especially love the male magic summoning voice. Very intense. Just unlocked the second world. timers are fine with me as I don't get to much time to play these days anyway. It's the adverts of like to remove. Alex Wolf Well-Known Member Dec 5, 2010 585 3 18 #12 Alex Wolf, Oct 1, 2014 Omg this is fun ) and i rarely say this ... It looks gorgeous the animations ...!! 9/10 from me SwimCeej Well-Known Member Dec 10, 2008 323 0 16 I help make iOS games! Atlanta, GA http://games.adultswim.com #13 SwimCeej, Oct 1, 2014 If you die 3 times in quick succession, yeah - you'll see a timer. Your life potions (top left corner on the map screen) regenerate one every 30 mins. But you can also choose to watch an ad and skip that completely. So - it's a quite minimal wait, and it's skippable either by ad or by currency. And if you're not dying a lot you're not going to run into this very often. studepaber007 Well-Known Member Jan 26, 2011 330 0 0 Ohio #14 studepaber007, Oct 1, 2014 It looks fun to me. Since I play in spurts the timer wont be an issue and ads are no biggie as long as you can close them. Downloading tonight! Nekku Well-Known Member May 31, 2013 1,542 7 38 #15 Nekku, Oct 1, 2014 Vertical tiles, horizontal tiles, chargable spells, a big world devided in several levels...this is pretty much like Spellfall, no doubt. You will definitely need premium currency at some point if you want to max out your character. You'll see what I mean. Misguided Well-Known Member Jan 27, 2009 2,346 19 38 #16 Misguided, Oct 1, 2014 Perhaps, but I'm not so sure. There are other elements at play here, like the criticals, locked tiles, etc. Spellfall had no sense of progression. All the battles were the same and it felt grindy as a result. Moreover, it became punishingly painful to play as enemies did so much damage relative to your health that getting past one fight without having to then wait forever to heal became a challenge. A real disappointment from Backflip. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #17 L.Lawliet, Oct 1, 2014 ^ Yeah SF was great but it was heavily made toward freemium forcing you to have to charge items before a big battle or get stuck. I also didn't see too much variation with the board. This game looks like it mixes up the board and has enemies attack the board. However I did like the story text in SF. Though this game has a fun story too. Didn't realize about death timers. I should have tried to kill myself multiple times lol. Guise Well-Known Member Jul 10, 2009 2,027 14 38 #18 Guise, Oct 1, 2014 Same here. If this is too freemium-y for my tastes, I'll scrap it and fervently anticipate Super Glyph Quest. Is there an IAP to remove the ads, are the ads removed if any IAP is purchased, or are the ads unremovable? Ads break deals for me. Thanks in advance for any info. Gabriel.Voyager Well-Known Member Sep 16, 2009 173 0 0 IT Consultant Turin - Italy #19 Gabriel.Voyager, Oct 1, 2014 Another freemium crap whit ads, timer, consumable iap... What a shame SwimCeej Well-Known Member Dec 10, 2008 323 0 16 I help make iOS games! Atlanta, GA http://games.adultswim.com #20 SwimCeej, Oct 1, 2014 There is no "remove ads" IAP. However, ads are only displayed to you if you've spent under $5 in IAP. The stamp currency packs are actually quite generous considering - buying the lowest-priced pack twice gets you 600 of 'em which will last you quite awhile. It's not advertised because you will still see cross-promotional messaging when we launch a new app (which could be construed as an "ad" though it is not paid and it's for one of our games) or announcements. If you die a lot you can also opt to watch an ad for a continue/life potion recharge instead of spending premium currency. But that's up to you. That option will not disappear.
