It's a near perfect throwback to the old books where you are the hero.” “This gamebook is absolutely brilliant. The scifi setting is highly detailed and well thought out.” “Heavy Metal Thunder is, by far, the greatest book I have ever read.” “...it's a long, extremely well-written story with tons of choices. Very re-playable.” -- Pocket Gamer (Silver Award) ------------------------------------ "The kind of deathly sci-fi that you’ll enjoy if you liked Dead Space or the frightening moments of desperation in Gravity." "Heavy Metal Thunder is a cruel and unforgiving gamebook. It bashes you against the debris of space over and over, and is happy to leave you at the mercy of all manner of terrors." "The whole thing is presented brilliantly. The skill check and fighting interface in particular makes tapping the screen to stop some dice feel surprisingly futuristic." "It's refreshingly grim, and manages to keep you entertained throughout its hefty running time." "Fans of the genre thirsting for something a little darker should definitely give it a look." -- Pocket Tactics -------------------- "A big sweeping pulp sci-fi story of impossible odds and encroaching insanity." "I had a lot of fun with Heavy Metal Thunder, and look forward to future installments." Im lazy and havent updated ios, currently at 7.1 (purely due to laziness, havent even bothered jailbreaking. Game has lots and lots of dice rolls, and no second chances ala that other gamebook series. Still the plot seems really awesome, just the crashing wont lret me get far. zeratulo Well-Known Member Mar 29, 2014 127 0 0 #15 zeratulo, Sep 6, 2014 Not true Mookmonster Well-Known Member Apr 11, 2010 398 0 16 #16 Mookmonster, Sep 7, 2014 Perhaps u misinterpret. When i say second chances, what i mean is that when the dice are rolled in other game books, you can shake your device if u see that the dice will be a low value, and get a second roll, increasing your chance of winning the dice challenge. In this game, once u press on the dice, the number is what u get, no second chances, so more life like i guess, but i prefer the other way bc dice rolls r so random and unyielding. And as far as i can play before the game crashes (consistently), every single challenge/battle/etc is a dice throw. That may change later, but i cant find out. Which is not to say the game is bad, dice rolls are fine, and the plot is teasing me to no end, its really a fantastic plot idea. I just cant get very far bc it crashes on my device.
