I was hoping for a video but their website didn't have any more information than this. In fact it had less. The other game they had on their site was House of Shadows, but I haven't tried that either. I guess I'll TOFTT, and report back later. Collin Well-Known Member Jul 29, 2010 719 46 28 Graphic Designer/Illustrator/Art Director Colorado Springs, CO https://www.theislandsofmisfitcreativity.com/ #4 Collin, Mar 16, 2014 Less than 10 minutes in, and I'm loving it! I grew up with Atari 2600, and so far this has captured the feel of it perfectly. You have the rounded corners of the TV, the faint scanlines of the CRT, and a slight fuzz to everything when the colors are bright. It controls well, and the humor is snarky but I like it. I'm only two trophies in so I can't say how long the game will last, but there are 24 cases for trophies, and at this point there's no telling how difficult some of them are going to be to get. If you have any fond memories of the 2600, or the Atari Adventure game, I highly recommend you spend the $.99 to get this. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #5 psj3809, Mar 16, 2014 This looks great. How does it control though? Collin Well-Known Member Jul 29, 2010 719 46 28 Graphic Designer/Illustrator/Art Director Colorado Springs, CO https://www.theislandsofmisfitcreativity.com/ #6 Collin, Mar 16, 2014 Very well, with swipes, rather than a joypad. But you can swipe anywhere, and your pixel will glide in that direction. For me it's working perfectly so far. I'm now five trophies in, and it's just getting better. You collect coins in the levels, and then use them to buy upgrades (something I didn't know about before). Graphically, the coins don't fit in with the aesthetic of the rest of the game, but then neither does the music, and I don't feel that either take away from the immersion. There aren't any IAP or iAds (edit: that I've found so far). The levels also get larger. One thing I don't quite have the hang of yet is the swipe attack mini game that pops up when you touch a monster with the sword. I've mainly had trouble with it if I've touched the monster while it was a bit too close to the screen edge, so it doesn't seem to register my swipes correctly. For anyone interested, here is their website: http://www.electrictoy.co There isn't much there, but there is a contact link, so I suggested that they stop by the forum and answer any questions anyone has. All-in-all, fantastic find Pete! I'm loving it! psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #7 psj3809, Mar 16, 2014 Right I bought it. The controls are great, a bit like relative touch Love the Atari style graphics. Had a quick go and did the first Mission. Can't wait to get into it more. You control him by swiping the screen in the direction you wish to move. The controls couldn't feel better. You live with your mom (who's a real bi#%h). In your house there is a trophy room. Your goal is to go out into the world and retrieve trophies which are of course being protected by dragons, bring them back to the trophy room, bang the neighbors pixel daughter, collect coins, and level up. When you approach a dragon for battle, to attack you must time your swipes to a constant beat and visual meter. You have to find keys to get you into castles, where the loot is usually being guarded. I'm an hour in. This isn't a genre I'm super into, but I love this game. The story (if you'd call it that) Is actually pretty interesting. If this game interests you, buy it for a buck. Overall: As mentioned, this has a lot of polish! Anyone who experiences this amazing game will immediately have no doubt that this is someone's labor of love. 4.5/5 Highly Recommended for anyone interested JeffWofford Member Oct 8, 2012 22 0 0 Programmer #15 JeffWofford, Mar 17, 2014 Trying out pixa Jeff Wofford from The Electric Toy Company here. Thanks for trying out pixa! I grew up with the Atari 2600 (and later the Atari 800) and absolutely adored those old games. Does that mean that the levels are randomly (or procedurally) generated? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
