I didn't see any at least. But it's good to see Halfbrick is back to making a game more in their quirky fun style rather than the IAP bonanza that was Band Stars. rIcHrAnDoM Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Nov 17, 2008 7,936 30 38 Steelworker/Welder Indiana, USA #4 rIcHrAnDoM, Mar 10, 2014 Hm. Now it makes you hungry but you don't get too eat. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #10 ste86uk, Mar 10, 2014 I'm up to about level 38 now and enjoying the game especially as it was free. The energy system isn't bad as you get a refund if you beat the level and generally I'll play on small doses anyway. Got myself the pirate hat and crash helmet so far, anyone else using the pirate hat? MasterChief3624 Well-Known Member Oct 11, 2009 2,530 0 0 #11 MasterChief3624, Mar 10, 2014 Okay, after watching some of Sanuku's gameplay (thanks a lot, as always!), I'm getting a bit worried. That "Entry fee" thing scares me and gives me flashbacks to Injustice iOS. It seems you can be refunded the credit you used when you beat the level, but I'm not liking the idea of that "energy" that Halfbrick is incorporating. Unless I'm wrong about its purpose? It seems like, just like Injustice iOS, Where's My Water? 2, Angry Birds GO, and countless other iOS games, Halfbrick is utilizing the stupid "energy" IAP mantra. You give your players the opportunity to play the game, but after a while their energy will run out and they either have to wait for a recharge, or pay for more energy. That seems to be what the entry fee thing is for this game. I really hope I'm wrong, and I only watched 5 or 6 minutes total (skipping around a lot), but that worries and disappoints me a lot. I heard horror stories of Colossatron's IAPs but admittedly never tried it for myself. Hopefully I'm crying wolf and this is a non-issue. It does seem like the energy in this game is a little more lenient than, say, Angry Birds Go. Otherwise it looks kind of fun. Kind of like Sokoban without boxes, throwing a little Fruit Ninja in for good measure. Currently living in Canada #13 nicodemus82, Mar 10, 2014 That's exactly what the "entry fee" system is. However it does seem pretty fair so far, so we'll have to see how things go as I get further in. Geertyy Well-Known Member Apr 15, 2013 283 0 0 #14 Geertyy, Mar 10, 2014 Gameplay looks fun to me, but I saw in Sanuku's video that the IAP are really steep... nini Well-Known Member Oct 11, 2012 114 0 0 #15 nini, Mar 10, 2014 The IAPs are steep but I figure that's to prevent anyone buying them yet, pricing balancing comes later. I'll have to try it out to see if that timer is really bother some or not. Does anyone know if the social integration is forced or not? ZeroVoid Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2011 108 2 18 #17 ZeroVoid, Mar 10, 2014 I really hope they're placeholders. Most are $15 - $25, that's insane. wigzisonfire Well-Known Member Dec 24, 2012 392 0 0 Art Director London #18 wigzisonfire, Mar 10, 2014 Haha! Greatest game ever made. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #19 L.Lawliet, Mar 10, 2014 Wow this game is good. Oddly there's no tutorial on the first level, just makes you play. I was staring at the paintings then after 10 seconds started randomly tapping parts of the screen. Then I realized I'm a bear so... Anyhow, it's hard to understand the timer since it never shows the time. It's a interesting mechanic. I guess it's a new way so you "don't know" when the bar will fill up. I lost purposely to see the timer and there's no countdown unless I'm missing it. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,003 113 #20 ste86uk, Mar 11, 2014 I didn't need a tutorial the game is pretty single and straight forward. As for the energy as you get a refund if you beat the level it's not bad at all but who can say for end game as I imagine that'll be difficult. But it doesn't bother me as I wouldn't play endlessly all day anyway but I played for hours before I ran our earlier. The IAP prices do seem steep to me so hopefully they are place holders I agree on that one. But as I'd never buy an IAP on this type of game/model it doesn't bother me either.
