Over the weekend, HandyGames announced that it is bringing Bugbear Entertainment’s fast-paced racer Wreckfest to mobile. Wreckfest launched on PC and consoles, and it even got a pretty great conversion for Nintendo Switch. Read Shaun’s review of the Switch version here. If you’ve never heard of it, Wreckfest is a Destruction Derby-like fast-paced racer with a lot of crashes, fights, races, and more with realistic physics simulation. I’ve been wanting to play it on Switch for a bit, so this mobile version is going to be fun to try out and maybe even compare with the game on Steam Deck and Switch. Watch the Wreckfest mobile announcement trailer from HandyGames below:
HandyGames is known to do excellent mobile conversions. The SpongeBob mobile port is actually the best portable version of the game as well if you have a modern iOS or iPadOS device. I can’t wait to see more of Wreckfest, and it is good to see it also include multiplayer right from the start alongside challenge modes. Wreckfest is priced at $39.99 on Nintendo Switch with additional paid DLC available. A price point for mobile hasn’t been announced yet. I hope we also learn about what DLC is included or when mobile players should expect paid DLC to come to the platform. Check out Wreckfest on Steam here. 2022 is shaping up to be an even more amazing year for PC and console ports on mobile. Have you played Wreckfest yet on any platform?
