Back in January of this year Third Sphere Game Studios launched their Souls-inspired 2D hack ‘n slash RPG Watcher Chronicles on Steam, and since then it has gained quite the positive response from PC players. The premise of the game is that evil forces have teamed up to take over Purgatory and turn it into the next Hell. As a lost soul wandering Purgatory yourself, you aren’t about to let a bunch of jerks prevent you from the sweet relief of a definitive death. And so you must fight. And fight and fight and fight, against all manner of nasty enemies and 20 grueling bosses. In Watcher Chronicles death is your destiny, and you will die a lot. Now after several months of PC success, Watcher Chronicles is making its way to iOS, Android, and Switch later this month.
As you can see from that mobile announcement trailer, Watcher Chronicles looks bad ass. It also sounds metal as heck. I guess that’s what happens when your game takes place in Purgatory. And those boss battles? TWENTY of them? I’m guessing this game won’t be for the faint of heart. The plan is to launch Watcher Chronicles on iOS, Android, and Switch all on the very same day, April 28th. Pricing-wise things shake out a bit different between platforms. iOS and Android will be free to download with access to the first area with a one-time IAP of $7.99 unlocking the entire rest of the game. Gotta love the try before you buy model. On Switch it’ll be priced as the PC version, which is $19.99 for the whole enchilada up front. Keep an eye out for this one later this month.
