Late last month, Akupara Games and Silver Lining Studio announced a release date for their Studio Ghibli-inspired narrative puzzler Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery ($5.99). Pre-orders and pre-registrations went live for the mobile versions as well then. When Jared wrote about it, I was very impressed with the trailer and was looking forward to checking it out because I like elegant puzzle games and the aesthetic here is great. In Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery, you play as a young artist trying to finish a painting to submit to a gallery. Your aim is to bring the paintings to life while finding the missing colors in a relaxing puzzle experience. The paintings have a story here with gorgeous visuals as shown in the trailer. Just like Gorogoa, Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery seems like the kind of game that would feel best on iPad. The game has launched on Steam and iOS with the Android version currently rolling out now worldwide. It should be up very soon. If you’d like to play it, you can buy Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery on the App Store for iOS here for $4.99. It will be available here on Android when it rolls out worldwide. You can also buy it at a launch discount on Steam here. What do you think of the gameplay from the trailer and will you be buying Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery on mobile or PC today?
