In August of last year we noted the soft launch of card-based fighting game Invictus: Lost Soul from developer True Axion and publisher Bushiroad, who are more than familiar with the world of card battling game both physical and digital. Invictus had previously been in soft launch in 2019 as well, and in general the developers have been working for a long time trying to whip the very promising looking game into shape. Well it appears that they’ve done just that as today Invictus: Lost Soul has officially launched worldwide, excluding certain unnamed regions according to the press release. But for anyone not in those mysterious unnamed regions you can grab Invictus and give it a shot right now for free. Here’s a trailer.
Invictus: Lost Soul features a robust story mode with 6 different realms to explore and a story told through visually impressive cutscenes. In fact the whole game is pretty stunning from a graphical standpoint. In addition to single player the game offers real-time online PvP and the whole combat system is designed around building out your deck of cards made up of offensive, defensive, and support cards. You must strategically decide when and what type of card to play against your opponent, and the whole battle plays out on the screen like a traditional 1v1 fighting game. There’s also a full upgrade system for your fighter where you can unlock and equip more than 200 different types of armor, weapons, and equipment.
As part of this worldwide rollout, starting today and running until March 21st Invictus will be hosting a special crossover event with the popular card battler Cardfight!! Vanguard, which just this year has celebrated the tenth anniversary of both its anime and physical card games. In fact in April of last year Invictus publisher Bushiroad also put out a streamlined mobile version of the Cardfight!! Vanguard card battling game called Vanguard ZERO (Free), so the synergy in this latest crossover event is just oozing all over the place. The event will feature special unlockable skins, weapons, and other goodies for those who participate in it. Invictus: Lost Soul is available on the iOS App Store as well as the Google Play Store for Android, and you can download it for free right now to check out the limited-time Cardfight!! Vanguard event for yourself.
