During Ubisoft’s big press event at E3 today, they announced a new mobile game called Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad which they describe as “an action RPG mobile game based on the lore of Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, The Division and Rainbow Six Siege." In it you’ll be able to collect and upgrade a team of characters from across those Tom Clancy franchises, including Caveira, Sam Fisher, El Sueño, Montagne, Nomad and more. While details are scarce, the gameplay is described as “real-time shooting battles" as you pit your team against an opponent’s team across “the most iconic battlefields from the Tom Clancy’s universe." Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad will include an Arena for PvP and a Guild system for players to team up and battle along side each other, as well as “a thrilling campaign mode, featuring a unique Tom Clancy’s storyline where players will have to face a new threat to save the world."
As you can see at the end of the above trailer, if you head over to the game’s official website you can pre-register and earn an exclusive reward in the form of Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s Cole D. Walker when the game goes live globally for iOS and Android. Free to play RPG battlers such as this are plentiful on the App Store, and while the formula doesn’t stray too far from game to game they usually do a fantastic job of dishing out fan service for whichever IP each game is based on. So if you’re a huge Tom Clancy nut and enjoy the variety of games he’s partnered with Ubisoft with over the years, then Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad should push all your buttons when it arrives on mobile at a yet to be determined point in the future.
