‘Dragalia Lost’ Kindness and Captivity Raid Event Announced For October 31st

TouchArcade Rating:

Nintendo’s Dragalia Lost (Free) has been getting loads of content ever since launch. While it sadly still is only available in a few regions (including Japan and USA) worldwide, there has been a plethora of content for players in supported regions or those who have sideloaded it on Android. Today, the Flamehowl Ruins event begins allowing you to strengthen flame-element adventurers. These adventurers will be important for the upcoming Raid Event.

All difficulties of this event will be available until it ends on October 31th at 2 AM. The items and rewards from this event will be doubled for the daily bonus. Flame-element adventurers will be super useful for the Kindness and Captivity Raid that begins when the Flamhowl Ruins event ends. The event will let you play in co-op against the wind raid boss. As with the other event you need to have cleared Chapter 2 / 2-1 on Normal to play event quests and in co-op. As with all updates, the comic strip has also been updated which you can either view online or from within the game.

Dragalia Lost is free to play on iOS and Android Read our review of it here. I know you’re probably hoping for some news about Europe and other regions being added to the supported list for the game but there is no news right now. If you’re reading this in an unsupported country, I feel your pain but you can make a US account pretty easily for this. Read our review of the game here.

Why are they not making a statement about why is the game not in the rest of the world?

No shock that this is Nintendo’s lowest grossing game in terms of revenue..

Not exactly true, anymore. That information is based on the first week revenue of each Nintendo Mobile games respective releases, and while the lack of brand recognition in Dragalia Lost brings in a more modest initial turnout compared to their other games, the microtransaction models of two of the games, AC: Pocket Camp and Super Mario Run, results in a very slow build-up of revenue over time. The latter especially, having taken two years since it's release to hit a $50 million benchmark.

DL, on the other hand, primarily gets its revenue on convenience pack purchases and -- most importantly -- gacha mechanics for the acquisition of most units, which results in a more stable income over a long period of time. After some time in the Mobile Market, it's most likely going to be 2nd in terms of Lifetime revenue while being a sizable amount behind Fire Emblem Heroes, which has the advantage having both gacha mechanics AND name recognition (and waifus).
