‘Pokemon Quest’ Action-RPG Out Now on Switch, Coming to iOS and Android in Late June

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company dropped a surprise Pokemon release on Switch, Pokemon Quest – and it’s coming to mobile in June. This free-to-play title has players controlling a trio of Pokemon in action-RPG battles, where each Pokemon attacks automatically but also has special attacks on cooldown timers to use. You collect ingredients to cook food that will attract new Pokemon, and earn items from completing levels that allow you to upgrade your Pokemon and evolve them. The game takes place on Tumblecube Island, and uses a voxel graphic style (not unlike Minecraft) and features Pokemon from the Kanto region – that’s the first 151.

The movement and basic combat are handled automatically, but the game does have a rather involved upgrade and move growth system in play, as you start to unlock new item and move slots over time for your Pokemon. Also, with the sheer number of Pokemon available, there is the potential for a lot of tactical loadouts and strategy over time, even if the base game features a lot of automation.

The game will release for mobile in June, and honestly, it feels like a mobile game that The Pokemon Company just decided to release on Switch because why not? It’s definitely a touchscreen-first game: you can use the joystick and buttons, but only as a pointer, not to undergo any direct control. It’s also one of the few games on the Switch to be a true free-to-play title, as you can buy tickets to speed up progress on the cooking of recipes, for example.

This is an interesting strategy for release, and I’m curious to see if The Pokemon Company duplicates it with other Pokemon mobile games, like their digital version of the Trading Card Game. Expect the mobile version of Pokemon Quest in late June 2018 on iOS and Android.

How does the free-2-play work out on the switch? Wouldn't this be the first free-2-play title on the switch?

This game does not look as good as Pokemon Go which is disappointing, but can only give an honest opinion after playing it.

It's Fun on Switch, a good game if your out & about & only have a few mins to play something it's offline playable on Switch don't expect that on Mobiles most the time Nintendo games get a Wifi requirement on mobile (pokémon shuffle for ex)

    Payment:
You don't need to pay you can play without spending anything you earn 50 tickets a day on top of what you earn during gameplay in the shop menu u can collect tickets everyday.
(i'm speaking for the switch i'm unsure how everything will transition to mobiles)
    Play:
If you know what Pokémon Rumble is it's kinda like that but the characters (you have multiple) move auto you can even set the attack to auto as well, move through the levels clearing the waves of enemy's to get to the boss all while auto collecting ingredients for your base. You use these to cook foods to find new pokémon. Die while in the level you can use the tickets to save your items or you can just let them go free. Your base is where most these tickets will be used for, decorations while there isn't many they range from 50 to 700 ..

    Pros:
On Switch it's Offline Playable it is a cute & fun quick game, Good game for quick plays.
    Cons:
it's freemium, lots of in game purchases, it's auto move instead of letting us move & kick butt, there is limited decor..

if this stayed offline playable on mobiles i think it's worth grabbing it's fun & easy.
