The Innovative ‘Guild of Dungeoneering’ is On Sale for the First Time Ever

TouchArcade Rating:

Guild of Dungeoneering ($5.99) is one of those games whose appeal is hard to explain in words. It’s kind of a card game, a little bit of a roguelite, and a healthy dose of dungeon building. Although it wasn’t born on mobile, it’s a natural fit for the platform. It’s also been well-supported by its developer, receiving two large expansions in the one year and change since it released on mobile. During that time, its price didn’t just stay at the same level it launched at, it actually increased with each update. Well, I don’t know what the occasion is, but you can get the game right now at a discount for the first time ever.

Normally selling for $6.99, the game is currently on sale for less than half that price. At $2.99, it’s even cheaper than its launch price, and you still get both expansions at no additional cost. It’s a great value for a great game. The villainous Carter Dotson even saw fit to grant it a rare “more than 3.5 stars" when he reviewed the game at launch. I’d recommend checking out his review to get the ins and outs of how the game works, but basically you need to place dungeon pieces down to guide the heroes to their goal. The heroes have minds of their own, so it can be a little tricky to get them to do what you want, particularly if the RNG gods don’t smile down on you with the right pieces. It’s a very unusual game, but a lot of fun when it isn’t aggravating you.

At the time of writing, it’s not clear why Guild of Dungeoneering is on sale, so I can’t say with any certainty how long it will remain at this price. I do know that the developer wasn’t big on the idea of cutting the price at one point, so this might be a very rare chance indeed. You know what that means, friends: dig through those couch cushions for change, clear some space on your device, and get to the dungeoneering as soon as possible!

      Thanks for coverage!
      You're awesome!
Yes iOS is still the main platform for VEmpire, it was build for it from the very beginning!
The Steam-version somehow interrupted us, because we realized that we can not just bring a "cheap" iOS port to steam, to satisfy the audience!
So we have built a "true" desktop version for PC/MAC/Linux!
But with this also the iOS version has become much better!
We are sooooo super-excited to launch VEmpire on iOS, it will be awesome!
In the meantime we would love our audience to check the steam-version:

And to be honest: the better we can sell it on steam, the faster the iOS version will be finished!

Thanks Tasos for mentioning, you're awesome...

Looks like a great game, love the artwork and aesthetics. I don't think delaying games is an issue, as long as the game is good at the end of the day people will play it. Good luck!

          thanks for the nice words!

Eh, it's been so long that I've lost interest especially with great games that already released like TESL and Elders. It also rubs me the wrong way with them saying iOS is the main focus/platform when that's clearly not the case. Too little too late for me.

      1. Rudi Reim

        Why so negative...
VEmpire is in no way like TESL, it is a deckbuilder, no pay2win, you pay once and that's it. It is meant to be a game for all card-game players as an in-between game, no matter if hearthstone, tesl, hex or whatever, no competitor to those!
And: VEmpire is definitely a game that was always build for iOS at the very first place!
There has been iOS versions long before pc....
But we are a small team working on it since 4 years and have spent thousands on dollars on it.
Throwing it out on the App-Store for 1.99 and be overseen anyway because of the so "great" free2play games from the big-vendors would not have been a good idea.
So we started with steam, to hopefully get some bucks that we really need in the meantime.
AND: The iOS version has greatly improved because of the work on steam version!
It is a fantastic game, esp. on the iPAD, but we want it as polished as possible.

So stay tuned & hopefully you will be surprised positively!
And: thx to toucharcade that "small" titles get some attention!

Way to rip off the title of another game called Vempire that was on PSP and Vita. Seriously, they couldn't come up with an original name?
