We’ve been getting an awful lot of rad ports lately, and the cool port gravy train doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon with the announcement of Billy Goat Entertainment’s Her Majesty’s Spiffing which is due out on the App Store on May 4th. If this is the first you’ve heard of the game, here’s the gist: It calls itself a “quaint graphic adventure game," set in a universe where you’re searching for planets to claim for the Galactic British Empire. (Oh, and “Spiffing" is actually an acronym for “Special Planetary Investigative Force For Inhabiting New Galaxies" which makes a lot more sense once you know that.)
Going by the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, Her Majesty’s Spiffing is a game (unsurprisingly) chock full of British humor, and really the only negative thing anyone mentions is that it’s a little on the short side which is sort of typical for these kind of cinematic adventure games. Also, another fun fact, this game is a product of a successful Kickstarter.
I’m always down to try out new adventure games, as it really feels like my iPad is the perfect platform for that sort of thing. Additionally, Her Majesty’s Spiffing being released on May 4th will provide a welcome reprieve from being inundated with Star Wars puns.
