The very-ambitious open-world pirate action RPG Tempest finally has a release date, so you’ll be happy to know that you can go all Pirates of the Caribbean on the world on April 18th on both iOS and Android. If you haven’t read our earlier story on the game or haven’t visited our Upcoming Games forum thread yet, Tempest will have you playing the captain of your pirate ship, engaging in ship to ship sea battles, and even storming land fortresses that dare to defy you. You can also construct, level up, and customize your own vessel, which I hope you’ll call the Black Pearl, and complete either solo or co-op quests and missions.
While the game isn’t an MMORPG, you can still fight other players in online PVP, which should be fun if done right. Tempest is available for Android open beta starting today, and the game is coming on both platforms April 18th.

Hey Jared, Shaun from Cmune here. Thanks for the write up, we're very excited to finally bring Deadheads to players! Our team has worked crazy hard on this.
It is true that we've had a few shots in the mobile shooter genre, but I wanted to give some background on what we've been doing. Deadheads started life in early 2014 as a complete rewrite of the tech stack we used to created UberStrike. UberStrike was our first game and it grew way beyond our expectations (25M+ players), needless to say we learnt a lot along the way. This was much the same with Bullet Rush, which evolved into Squad Wars - and we learned a ton more about the nuances of mobile shooters.
Deadheads is the spiritual successor to UberStrike, and what we believe is a PvP shooter done right. It's way more scalable, graphically superior, more performant and hopefully more fun.
One thing we did right with UberStrike is we listened to our players, and evolved the game with our community. Deadheads is no different, our developers, artists and producers talk with players daily (https://discord.gg/yvqFddj) and feed suggestions directly into our roadmap.
We're planning a long and glorious life for Deadheads. We are actively working on some super cool new features and expanding to new platforms. Hope you'll give it a try :)
